The Adrian Peterson Injury...

...is a reminder, a terrifying reminder that anything can happen at any time. Also because it is the kind of fear that sits in the back of your mind with a QB like Newton who is always going to be putting himself out there, between the tackles, inside the clutter of O-linemen and D-linemen and linebackers, nearly as much as running backs do.

You know it could happen at any time. Injuries happen passing in the pocket. You hope injury never happens, but the concern is real because the chance of injury also increases the more the QB runs around. Yes, even injuries as severe as Peterson's.

Cam took a few shots this past weekend that stung him. He felt that sideline hit, and a couple of the ones that he took while diving instead of sliding correctly. Those hits are like jabs. They start wearing on the body the more they happen, until...

Well, you hope they figure out a way to avoid or reduce exposure to hits. Running Backs know it comes with the position. Hopefully Rivera and the Offensive coaches come up with a "plan" to try and preserve Cam, starting with a helmet that fits and perfecting how to slide.

Suggesting Cam could go down is the best troll thread I could come up with due to the teams recent success.

Pathetic isn't it?

I don't see what the big deal is here with the way Newton falls to the ground.

I've seen people in the past, while attempting to "slide correctly", tear ligaments.

I have never heard a single time out of Cam's bio that he played baseball in the past. If he did, it was probably at a time so far back that none of the lesson's learned therein still stick. So "sliding correctly" is probably a method totally foreign to him.

I think what Cam does, especially for a 6-6 guy with long as hell legs, is a much safer method of "getting down" than "sliding correctly". Because he's usually kind of falling into a ball/fetal position which IS a protective position.

    • I meant to type more my bad…. first and main reason we’re probably trying to add him his pff scores are high very high. Being that we value that much more nowadays I know he’s on our radar. His run stopping grades were like the highest of all LBs. That would have given us top graded plates at all three levels Brown then Pratt with   JC and Moehrig were definitely stopping the run this year with these monsters fully healthy. I hope we dangling some of that Clowney money at him we need him to solidify our defense. add in the NC ties and we should be in play got his services
    • You're not even reading what I'm saying you're just ranting. It has everything to do with draft pick value vs. cap space impact. The agent knows he's holding significant draft capital over the GM's head vs. minimal cap impact. Not everyone is geared like Dave Gettleman where literally everything boils down to a dick measuring contest. History indicates the agents progressively whittle away and win the battle vs. the GMs on the rookie contracts. Hell, we have an owner throwing out typical 6th rounder guarantees at UDFAs just to secure them. He's not sweating pennies on the dollar against the cap or trying to protect his precious wallet. It's the one thing I do appreciate about Tepper. The man will spend to try to win. Being cheap hasn't been our issue.
    • I would LOVE to have the talent that Oakland and NY(Giants) have. They were/are WAAAAAY better rosters.  I think we will finally crawl out of that "worst" spot this season, even as a massive sceptic.  We need it.
