the yoga class next to my kickboxing class gets out while we are still in. There is usually about 1/3-1/2 guys that walk out of there.

Ive been told its really good to help your breathing and to relax if you are a person who has trouble dealing with stress.

I don't really have problems with stress, the main thing I'd be interested in is increasing flexibility. I'm pretty rigid, especially my back. Probably comes from being in an office chair all day.

Most guys face similar obstacles to fitness. If you're not stressing out, you're scraping up time to work out--and sometimes your goals are murky.

Yoga isn't a cure-all. But we heartily prescribe accompanying your workout with the ancient practice. The benefits of yoga are obvious.

Yes, yoga links the mind and body, a concept that sounds a little bogus until you actually do it. But just as important, yoga boosts energy and speeds up your body's recovery. It can even help with back pain.

And you can do it without the trappings you may associate with yoga. Leave your Sanskrit dictionary at home and wear whatever you want.

If hitting the mat still seems frilly, consider the nearly 3.5 million men who are probably sleeping better than you because they've mastered their breathing. Or the NFL players who swear by it.

"The thing with yoga is that it's counterintuitive to a guy's natural way," says Jessie Brazil, a yoga instructor and certified health and fitness associate for the Health Fitness Corporation. "A guy sees it as stretching. He doesn't see it as a workout."

Results take time. Yoga is about total body strength--and seamlessly merging it with your other passions: Sex, travel, you name it.

It was a "boutique" type place at the Lake, that's all they do.

Does your Y offer hot yoga? Its basically yoga in a sauna room set at 110-120 degrees if you haven't heard of it..

edit: the only reason I say hot yoga specifically as opposed to regular yoga is because I feel like I've put in more work when I'm sore and my clothes are drenched with sweat.

haha yeah I do know what the Hot Yoga is, I have heard very good things about it....

They have that at the Y with all these other types of yoga

Regular Yoga

Vinyasa Yoga

Power Vinyasa

YIN

Hatha

Gentle

Mindfulness

Yoga/Pilates fusion

Bliss

Inyegar

I'm sure they are all pretty much the same just with slight changes. I have heard really good things about Vinyasa...this girl I do kboxing with says she takes that and it really helps your breathing when you are doing cardio, helps you to control everything. Its also really good for your core, building muscle, etc. You do lots of little movements and don't realize how much they work you until you are sore the next day.

    • Im not angry. Im disappointed. I want to win. Anyone who has watched Bryce play the last 3 years and thinks that this team has in any way seriously addressed the glaring deficiencies in our QB room is deluding themselves. It's been explained ad nauseum how our FO has protected Bryce from feeling even slightly challenged or pressured. A GM without an interfering owner would have brought in another QB to at least give the team a better chance at winning. We just gave an extension to a QB that only got 3k yards on the last play of his 16th game of the year. Indy admitted AR wasn't good enough by bringing in Jones to compete for the starting role. Tennessee drafted Ward to replace Levis. Stroud hasn't repeated his 1st year and Mills' performance was decent when he filled in after Stroud's injury and some were calling for him to remain starter. His future there is still in question even with a 5th year. We should have done the same, especially given that Bryce was benched.  Bringing in Grier is just another glaring billboard pronouncing the obvious. Dave Tepper still has his hands in the daily operations of this team. He controls the QB room because Bryce was his pick. Until Tepper finally admits that Bryce has barely lived up to the standards of a NFL Qb, we're going to spend our days reminiscing of when we were mediocre and finished 9-7.  It's just discouraging. We'll address every position on the field except the one with a glaringly obvious shortcoming. I had hoped Tepper really had backed off. Bryce's 5th year, Dalton's 2 year contract then trade, Kenny Pickett, Will Grier, Jack Plummer, and  Hendon Hooker say otherwise. It already feels like it's going to be a hard year of Panthers football to watch.
