My early mock draft

No it really doesn't

Draft value wise at this moment, the only players that fit into that range are Coples, Still and Reiff.... That's it. CB isn't happening as Dennard or Jenkings are major reaches. WR is a reach there for any of the remaining WR's. Nick Perry fits there at the moment, but is a better fit for OLB at 6-3 255. Really the Panther's don't have too many options if they can't trade down. (once again that's at this moment, the players expected to be there are pretty much Coples, Still or OT that fit the value and the Panther's Scheme.

I'm not sold on him either, but I honestly don't know who else wouldn't be a reach forus. Only an OT would make sense.

There you go then. I have been saying for weeks now that Martin or Reiff are probably going to be our pick if we stay put. Things can change between now and then but thats the only position that is a need (albeit a lesser one) and has value in the top 10. People forget Gross will be 32 by next season meaning we probably only have 3 to 4 years of solid play before he starts to diminish (or retire) and Otah is made out of glass. I hope to god we don't reach for a CB or DT and I never want to see a WR be our pick in the top 15.

Yea, I know Floyd at #7 is ridiculous, but so was Alualu at #10 (and Gabbert at #10 in my opinion). I thought about Coples to them, and I know people have been talking about it, but really their defense is good. They are the opposite of us, they need offense, and they need to help their young QB.

Floyd at seven is ridiculous, they're probable the best place for Coples. If they want WR there's no way they would reach that far, especially with a new coach on board.

Right now most would think that, but in actuality he's the second ranked WR and most have him as a top 12 pick right now. (That's a -5 value for a major need and if they feel he's BPA, then it's a good selection for them) Not as far fetched as one would think with the current rankings.

    • It’ll be interesting to see how the board falls I completely agree with you on TE for us The safety from Oregon would be the cherry on top for Evero’s defense/scheme.  If a OL’men is there that you love it would be very hard to pass up. This fan base seems to just see Walker as a stop gap but I wouldn’t be so sure. He’s the same age as Ekwonu. He’s had a much more impressive career arc/progression than Icky has. He’s the better pass protector. As far as I see it if Walker has a good year I’d bring him back over Icky. Ekwonu isn’t some elite franchise LT. Playing next to Lewis is going to be great for Walker much like it has been for Icky. We definitely need to get younger/cheaper on the OL though so for this reason alone it’s still top of my list come round 1 if board falls this way  Could also use another corner with Mike Jackson’s deal up after this season and needing a nickel but Corey Thornton looked really good in that role in the limited time we got to see him. However he’s coming off an achillies injury and you never know with those.  Then as mentioned above we do still have a need at WR. As far as “weapons” go it’s kind of a 2 man show with Tmac and Coker and neither is a burner. If Jordan Tyson is there at 19 and we can have a young WR group locked up for cheap that’s a huge advantage cap wise  And don’t forget linebacker. That clip in Devin’s Lloyd blueprint they used from Evero saying they need more intelligence there could’ve been left out for Wallace’s sake but it’s true. Wallace is lost in coverage. Pair a smart linebacker with Lloyd and that’s a group with Wallace and Cherelus being depth
    • The fact that this is even a discussion is a testament of the level of front office badassery that's going on.
    • Not always. LT was for the Giants. So was Ray Lewis. Von Miller was moreso than Manning his final year in the season that shall not be named. It's usually the QB, but not always.
