We interviewed him, but not necessarily for the head coach position. For example, we brought in Rob Ryan before hiring Rivera, but that was purely for the DC position.

More like he set a standard that made it hard to anyone to follow in his footsteps given the defense was number one in 2010 and then fell to 16th this year. Funny that we would be happy to finish that high.

Exactly why I think Rivera will turn this defense around and make it a top 10 defense. You can't overhaul the whole team in one year, especially without an off season.
