Oh please with the notion that Peyton's weapons were worse. That argument is poo with anyone that knows anything about football.

defense is a weapon far more important than any individual receiver, and the colts D is and has been awful

harrison, wayne etc. are/were good receivers with a great QB

nicks is a great receiver with a good QB

Peyton in his prime vs Eli in his prime.

Thats a no brainer, peyton.

Both have good receivers, but the Giants have a much better running game and defense for the last few years.

Right now though, well since Peyton might never play again, that one is easy. :)

I think its a no brainer in the regular season. First 9 games head to head in the playoffs. Theres a legit argument.

Peyton is in the convo for greatest regular season QB ever.

Eli is only 2/3 of the QB that Peyton was

You have got to realize, unlike Peyton, who was given free reign to mold a team the way he wanted. Eli is part of a franchise with some history. Unlike his brother, Eli has to be part of that legacy and not try to re-invent the wheel with the Giants.

I always felt Eli was equal to his brother but it's clear who the media choose and Eli had to play second fiddle.

Im talking about two QBs head to head, not the teams.

And there is no way you can just say Harrison, Wayne, and Clark were just some guys and Peyton made them great. Did Joe Montana make Jerry Rice great? Did Aikman make Irvin?

You know it is possible to have a great receiver and a great QB right?

    • Ravens mixing it up with a random Mark Andrew tush push last year isn't a similar situation.  Lamar has run QB sneaks his entire career.  And often instead of a traditional sneak will even employ a 4th and 1 direct snap to Lamar simply because of how athletic he is (which even Cam did a lot of) and let him pick his own holes.
    • height being an issue doesn't just mean batted balls.  You could argue Bryce minimizes batted balls by adopting other poor habits such as his jump passing and leaving the pocket.   As I said, there are plays you can point to where he clearly was blind to parts of the field/players....which kills plays and opportunity. Which actually means some of the shorter/hot throws when things break down are where his vision gets blocked (and he had below average production all around the line of scrimmage).   has he figured it out? I mean, he improved off a trainwreck start.  But Bryce Young since arriving in the league (even while figuring it out)......doesn't generate much offensive production vs his peers.  I just think his ceiling is low.   And that's not in the grand scheme what you want in the NFL.  I think he can develop into a serviceable QB, that will largely always been a middle of the pack or low end starter.
    • People make a lot of noise about his footwork and I think it is overblown. Whether he takes 3 steps backwards or 5 small steps doesn't matter as long as he ends up at the right depth and is in sync with  the receiver regarding timing. If he does that consistently who cares as long as he has a firm stable base as he delivers the ball. Which he does need to work on. However even that is somewhat overblown given that often QBs have to throw off balance or from different arm angles to fit the ball around defenders. He is considered very accurate so apparently it isn't hurting him that much.
