Defense still wins.

Defense Helps...ALOT. But you still need a QB. 49ers don't win without Alex Smith yesterday and they had NO shot without that defense in the first 3 quarters.

But you don't need an elite qb though. Brady is the only elite one left, although Mannning might be moving into elite territory.

Btw, Manning and Smith prove that sometimes it takes a few years and maybe the right coach, for a qb to show what he can do.

man im so right. defense wins championships. elite qbs can only go so far without a defense. get cam a defense and stop blaming him for the losses.

alex smith aint do nothing but almost lose the game. they should have blew the siants out of the water, but they could never capatilize on the DEFENSE turnovers.

panthers need a defense that is top 5 in redzone and turnovers. everything else is useless.

and guess what....the RAVENS will win. ive been right about every game this week because i choose the MOST COMPLETE TEAM, not just high scoring ones with no DEFENSE.

DEFENSE WINS ChAMpionships!!!!!! hahahahahahah

That Giants defensive line is what decided the game today against the Packers. The Giants are very thin at LB, and lost several key secondary starters, yet that defensive line kept chugging along. I'm not sure there's a DE worth the 8th or 9th pick, but I wouldn't be opposed any longer to adding an additional impact DE to our rotation. The best option might be Courney Upshaw to use as a hybrid for 3-4 OLB looks and some looks at an undersized 4-3 DE. Pass rush is king in the NFL, I think our defense should take serious notes on the 49ers and Giants for next season.

Eli is elite. I don't see how theres any questioning that now. Ill give you the Ravens and 49ers though.

And to that I reply: New England Patriots.

If they lose at home to the Ravens next week, that will prove your point. If they don't, well...

Like I said earlier, Patriots may be an exception. They have one of the greatest QBs ever and a great Head Coach. Also, their defense looked pretty damn impressive against Denver. Granted, they were playing The Golden Calf of Bristol, lol.
