The next Drew Carter...

At this point nobody knows what Gettis is going to do including himself. All people can speculate and predict which gives you bragging rights if you are right and is quickly forgotten if you were wrong.

Will Gettis be better than Carter. I surely hope so and would expect folks to feel the same way if they are Panther fans. Why in the world would anyone want him to fail or to even compare him with a player that struggled until there is a modicum of reason to do so.

As for Drew Carter, I liked him and was disappointed he never developed. Hopefully with a new staff of offensive coaches and a better deep passer at quarterback, Gettis will become a great receiver for us.

Thats my point so do you let that prevent you from drafting Blackmon or Floyd?

after blackmon there isn't really a whole lot of seperation in the level of talent between the next 4 or 5 WRs available.

this is a pretty solid class of WRs overall. we wouldn't need to draft one at 8/9 to get a quality one. if we can trade back and pick up an extra pick or two i wouldn't completely hate the idea of drafting a WR. mohammed sanu is someone who could fit the bill quite nicely.

that said, college is cranking out some good WRs lately. imo, we can afford to wait a year before we draft our next WR1. we got by with what we had and cam still threw for over 4000 yards and a respectable amount of TDs and that was with what many believe is a sucky WR corps (or at least acting like it was).

there are bigger needs that need addressed now than drafting someone that we hope can take smity's place in a couple years.

    • Don't have to be miss cleo. His weakness are length, athleticism, creating his own shot, defense, finishing at the rim,  Strengths - shooting and IQ.   Likely won't work as non athletic shooters don't typically work.

    • I live in Indiana and took a trip that weekend to watch my two friend's teams play (Chiefs and Vikings) IN Minnesota when they were playing at a college field, I think TCF? Anyways, our plan was to watch the game (noon game) then do some shopping at the Mall of America, I wasn't planning on watching the Panthers play Seattle since I was out sight seeing and walking around after the noon game had ended. By the time we were walking back into the Mall the Panthers were down by 2 scores in the 4th or going into the 4th and we were all thirsty from walking around for 2.5 hours after the Vikings game so we decided to postpone shopping until after we ate. We found this nice little sports bar inside the mall that had the game on. Man, I'm so glad we skipped shopping because that was probably the most excited I've been in some time for a win. Beating Seattle in 2015 felt like the "monkey off the back" sort of feeling and I knew we had finally arrived as a team. The entire bar erupted when Cam hit Olsen for that walk off TD. Literally one of the greatest moments of my life. My friend wasn't so happy though lol, by the time the Panthers game ended ALL of the stores inside the mall had closed and he wasn't able to get any souvenirs. It was his first time watching a Vikings game live and making a trip like that so he was legit upset lol. I on the other hand couldn't have been happier.
