Confirmed Interest - Players

Just thought I would make a list of players that we have confirmed interest in and the coinciding projected rounds. It's hard to keep track of all these guys. It appears that we are not tipping our hand on any 1st or 2nd Round prospects for the most part.

If I missed any, please post link confirming interest.

These projected rounds come from CBS sports rankings.

OT

Mitchell Schwartz - Cal - 5-6th Round

James Brown - Troy - 7th Round

Both of these players could project to OG in the NFL.

OG

Senio Kelemete - Washington - 3rd Round

Rishaw Johnson - California (PA) - 5-6th Round

WR

Brian Quick - App St - 2-3rd Round

Tim Benford - Tenn Tech - 5-6th Round

MLB

Audie Cole - NC St - 3-4th Round

OLB

Keenan Robinson - Texas - 3-4th Round

DE

Vinny Curry - Marshall - 2nd Round

Malik Jackson - Tennessee - 3-4th Round

DT

Kendall Reyes - UConn - 3rd Round

Kheeston Randall - Texas - 3rd Round

Akiem Hicks - Regina - 5th Round

Derek Wolfe - Cincinnati - 5-6th Round

Jaye Howard - Florida - 6-7th Round

CB

Leonard Johnson - Iowa St - 2-3rd Round

Jamell Fleming - Oklahoma - 3-4th Round

Casey Hayward - Vanderbilt - 4-5th Round

QB

Russell Wilson - Wisconsin - 5-6th Round

TE

DeAngelo Peterson - LSU - 6th Round

Punter

Brad Nortman - Wisconsin - 7th Round

I hope we aren't interested in him.. but if we are, share the link.

If Wilson goes undrafted or is available in the 7th round we'd be dumb not to take him honestly. He is at least going to be a valuable backup in the league. He ran a pro-style spread at State and a pro-style offense under center at Wisky. I will also bet you that outside of Luck he is probably the most NFL-ready QB in the draft when it comes to the mental aspect of the game. Finally...his arm is as strong as anyone in the draft. The guy has a cannon. I said it while he was at State that if he was 6'3'' instead of 5'11'' he would be a first round pick EASY.

I really like Schwartz, Quick and Robinson.

Snag a CB in the first, add these guys and I'm a happy mofo.

I like Schwartz a lot.. Mayock said he needed to go back and watch his tape because he was a lot more atheltic than he thought. He might be able to play RT.. with Geoff at RG.. that side of the Oline would be nasty. I definitely don't like Quick in the 2nd round.. there will be WAY better talent there when we pick.. and I love Robinson.. the guy is a complete stud.

I have no doubt in his arm ability or his mental aptitude. I just worry about his height. He is officially listed at 5' 10.75".. just a shade under 5'11". I can't think of a single NFL QB that height.

Quick looks like a faster Dwayne Jarrett, I'd take that combination of speed, size and hands any day.

Based on our needs, I don't think we target him in the 2nd round.. and I don't think he will be there in the 4th round. But, he looks like a decent prospect.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
