The quote is saying the rule that teams and the NFL control the logos won't change. I worked with the NFL making a licensed product and we had to submit everything to the NFL for approval. No way anyone could just make up a logo and slap it on something. We were provided a detailed website with all usable logos each year and could not deviate from that. The NFL is over the top strict about these things.

This makes me think that this could be legit. I love it FWIW.

This is an official NFL product, being worn by players in an official NFL game. These logos and designs have been approved by the NFL and their respective teams. This is looking to be legit.

I actually kind of like it. It is a classy and stylish upgrade that doesn't look cheap and dopey, yet still keeps the original form. Not sure if I would want them to follow through with it but I do like it.
