greatest super bowl champ (you have seen)

growing up in the 80's i saw some great sb champions. the 84 49ers, 85 bears, 86 giants, 89 49ers, 92-93 cowboys, 94 49ers, 99 rams and ravens of 2000. these were all great teams. would be interesting to see them play each other in their prime. the top 3 of those i guess would be imo...99 rams, 94 49ers and the best would be the 85 bears. that bears team was BAD! only lost one game that season. shut out the giants and rams in playoffs. the crowning achievement was the murder of the patriots in the super bowl, 46-10. that was the best sb champion i have ever seen. i guess with free agency now you don't have really great teams. good ole days.

Not sure how they would have faired against other teams but I have to take my 02 Bucs... 196 points allowed all year, 5 interceptions in the super bowl (3 for touchdowns), all those great defensive players in their prime, the ability to go on the road and win in the snow...

There have been plenty of great teams, wish we could have a virtual simulation to compare the greats and see who was the best.

Not to mention a head coach that knew the entire playbook of the team he was facing in the Superbowl by heart...priceless.:D

    • You bring up a good point on the stability part and i would agree that probably will factor into it. But yes, Tepper does have a strong influence on who stays/goes but I still believe ultimately it'is Morgan, Tilis and Canales who will decide.
    • I can always count on yout to put things so delicately lol. I'm still not sold on the fact that Tepper will make them keep him if they don't see him as a long term answer.
    • holy poo... this thread inspired me to keep trying to guess passwords to various alts I've created over the years and I finally got in! I pretty much accepted my fate as a lurker for the last several months because I could not remember my password. I didn't realize that new users couldn't join either, that explains things. I have been around for years under several different monikers, through the good and bad. I too always find myself coming back here even with all of the new social media options for Panther fan engagement. It's simply nostalgic.   I do get extremely annoyed with the same 5-10 posters shitting on Bryce and complaining about everything. It's unfortunate that half of them are mods and that nobody new can join because now I pretty much just come on here and see Bryce / Panther slander. There is barely any positivity to be had. We all watch this team and hang on this forum for entertainment purposes only. We have no control or say in anything. I used to be such a crazy ass fan that would argue with strangers about Cam newton on the internet and at games. Now, as a father of 3, a business owner and someone with way gnarlier life problems - I like to watch football and talk about football as an escape. Not to bitch more. I really like the direction of the team and will root anyone in a Panthers jersey. I live down the street from the Rams practice facility, Matthew Stafford is currently coaching his daughters flag football team in the same program I coach my sons. I have two highly ranked Rams staff members sons on my team. The way we beat them and had them on the ropes in the playoffs has me feeling amazing, and you would think we have the next great thing in Bryce with the way they all speak of him. I'm gonna ride that high and be a delusional fan, I hope that huddle can stick around or get fixed and perhaps I will get back to posting more now that I can log in again. I will do my best to not get banned. Keep Pounding!
