Should we get Alshon Jeffrey in the 5th round??

Could be a decent tight end at this rate.

@RookieDraft Alshon Jeffery is training at St Vincents here in Indy. Sources say he's weighing 249lbs + running a 4.88 Forty

If he is close to those numbers in 2 weeks than even the fifth round is too high.

*googles Alshon Jeffery*

He is one of the top prospects for the 2012 NFL Draft, ranked by Mel Kiper, Jr. as the best wide receiver and number five player overall.

*walks away*

*googles Mel Kiper big board*

Jeffrey isn't even on it. Blackmon is 5th overall right now and #1 receiver.

*thinks megadeth needs to learn how to google* ;)

It doesn't matter where he is ranked now. If he runs a 4.8+ 40 during the combine he may not even get drafted. At least not as a WR, but maybe a Dallas Clark like tight end.

If I am a troll I am the same troll who about a month ago thought that Jeffery would be a better fit for the Panthers than Blackmon.

    • I presented that scenario because this is a home game and we seemed to have improved in some capacity in that area as of recently. The problem with the possibility of sweeping the Bucs is this team has had a habit of quickly falling victim to momentum shifts. The Bucs are coming off a bitter loss the same as the Panthers but the Bucs have a much better proven track record this time of year and they have performed when the pressure is on unlike our Panthers. We have a shot against the Seahawks here in BOA but that is a matchup that could quickly get out of hand because they are a well coached team and that goes back to the momentum shifts I mentioned. I just don't see this team beating the Bucs in their stadium to close the season. Tall order to say the least.
    • I’d give it another year for Sanders and Evans, I don’t much care what you do with Tremble’s spot. Let him have another year or maybe replace him. Haven’t looked at his contract so that may be the determining factor.
    • Following the crazy up down pattern we finish 9-8 with an improbable sweep of TB, and lay an egg in the home playoff game.  I don’t know if I can sign on to sweeping TB but I suppose it’s possible, they aren’t really that good this year.    ps I can buy beating TB Sunday and losing to Seattle.  Then it just gets to can you fluke one game. Any given Sunday. So we’ll see.
