Panthers sort of mentioned as a team that MIGHT show interest in Vincent Jackson

That isn't the issue either. The issue is that there is no issue.

So your telling me you can sit there and no 100% that the Panthers have no interest in Jackson at all and this is a non issue? That is absolutley ridiculous. You have nothing at all to base that off of. Schefter, an NFL insider states the Panthers as a potential suitor. Rotoworld a reputable website that deals with these type of stories and articles every single day claim that they believe he would not have said this unless he had some type of info. It is not out of the realm of possibility for this to be true. People need to get off their high horses. I am not saying this is definitely going to happen, but it is worth discussing.

"Schefter is plugged-in enough that he likely wouldn't have mentioned those teams without inside info."

Rotoworld interpreted as if it were fact and was going based off a source. A certain few of you can try and make it look like I am posting baseless stuff, but rotoworld clearly states he likely wouldnt have mentioned those teams if he did not have inside info.

what in that comment makes you think that he's going off what he's heard rather than just what he thinks might happen?

there is a difference.

there is nothing to indicate that he's actually heard a rumor. it was a Q&A and he was probably asked what teams might be interested. he mentioned the teams that he thought might possibly have an interest. it's no different than anyone here posting an opinion on the same matter.

I am baseing it off the what rotoworld stated. Rotoworld deals with Schefter stories every single day.

that's fine but it doesn't change the fact that they are assuming based on an answer he gave on a Q&A that since he listed the panthers as a team that could possibly be one of the teams interested that this means he's heard something.

it also doesn't change the fact that you took that assumption they made and made an even bigger one stating that the panthers did actually in fact have interest in vjax.

that's the kind of assuming that turns people into jokes.

No, I can't anything definitely because I don't know (and I never said that-- unlike your title). Your title says 'The Panthers have interest in Vincent Jackson. I guess because "Panthers may have interest in Vincent Jackson is so vague and unworthy of a new thread

Here are the facts: Adam Schefter listed the panthers as a potential suitor for Vincent Jackson.

In an ESPN.com Q & A, Adam Schefter mentioned the Vikings, 49ers, and Panthers as potential suitors if free agent Vincent Jackson makes it to the open market on March 13.

Schefter is plugged-in enough that he likely wouldn't have mentioned those teams without inside info. Schefter suspects Jackson's willingness to give the Chargers a "slight discount" gives them an edge over other teams at this point, but that could change quickly after March 13. We've heard the Vikings and 49ers mentioned in connection with V-Jax. The Panthers would be a new addition to the bidding for this year's top free agent wideout. Mar 5 - 12:56 PM

Nothing definitive and pure speculation.

    • This whole thing is sooooooooo dumb, why any of this is an ongoing news story is ridiculous. There are only 2 people who should actually care about this, his wife and her husband. Affairs happen, not that I'm saying it's okay to cheat, but at worst, the only "bad thing" that could be coming around from this affair is that information was passed between them, the same type of info that any coach and journalist who are friends may share with each other to help the other out. The Patriots shouldn't care as long as it doesn't affect his focus on the team.  And those saying that he's lost the locker room and their respect over the "lying" have to be fooling themselves.  Half the players in that locker room are more than likely actively or previously have cheated on their significant other.  So it's not like they're looking at him saying, "what a liar and terrible person, I can't trust him as my coach anymore"
    • Seriously?!?! First SNF game of the year and it's two teams that didn't make the playoffs last year? I thought they always made that Week 1 SNF game a banger with two great teams from the previous season. EDIT:  Just looked, last year was Bills-Ravens, previous season was Lions-Rams, Giants-Cowboys ironically before that (but both coming off the playoffs).  From what I can tell, this will be the first time since 2020 that SNF's week 1 game isn't 2 teams from the playoffs the year before, and the Cowboys were in that one too, against the Rams who also didn't make it the year before.
