Looks like Redskins snatch 3 WRs off FA market in first 2 hours.

Garcon

Eddie Royal

Josh Morgan

Profootballtalk reports the Redskins have agreed to terms with WR Josh Morgan on a five-year, $12 million contract.

The five years are misleading, apparently in an attempt to extend the proration of the signing bonus. The deal will void after two years and contains a more than respectable $7.5 million in guarantees. Morgan was viewed around the league as a solid playmaker under-utilized by the 49ers. He'll join Pierre Garcon, and likely Eddie Royal, in a revamped Redskins receiving corps. Santana Moss and Jabar Gaffney are on notice while Leonard Hankerson is blocked.

Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan in Washington reports the Redskins have agreed to terms with WR/KR Eddie Royal.

Targeting three new receivers, Redskins are pushing to sign Josh Morgan to go with Royal and Pierre Garcon. A favorite of Mike Shanahan's going back to Denver, Royal is a candidate to play the slot and pitch in on returns. Santana Moss' roster spot now appears to be in jeopardy.

these are good moves actually, especially royal

They really overpaid Garcon, Morgan is a guy that barely played and is still a big question mark. I like the Eddie Royal move, since he at least has shown success in Shanahan's system.

Redskins will contend for the NFC East next year. Shanahan is a good coach and he knows what he's doin. If RG3 is anything like Cam was his rookie season that offense is going to be BEASTLY. Shanahans offenses always can run the rock but know with Moss, Garcon, Royal, Cooley & Davis.........whoa those are def some weapons. They have decent defense going on there too. Don't be surprised if we might have see them in the post season next year.

then again it is the Redskins so they will go 5-11

if all three are signed it's not awful, it seems like there are going to be 3 WRs out the door in Gaffney, Moss and Brandon Banks and that SEEMS to be why they are going nuts like this, but they still should be after other things than WR, they need a guard and a right tackle and some defense, mainly a safety.

pierre garcon was just so effective without peyton manning.

josh morgan is as proven as david gettis.

eddie royal is pretty good, but he's small and not going to be an "easy" target for RG3 to bail out on.

Garcon: 70 catches for 950 yrds whe he had no one throwing to him and Regiie Wayne on the other side. I think thats pretty good.

Go look at Steve Smiths stats when Clausen was throwin to him and then it might make sense to you

So they signed a bunch of guys that were #3 WRs on their old teams? LMAO! Leave it to little Danny Snyder!

Garcon is a number 2 who could likely be a number 1, not a number 3, that was Austin Collie and Anthony Gonzalez.

Josh Morgan was ACTUALLY the 2nd WR, then he got hurt. the only one you got right is Royal who is a 3rd WR, the rest were 2nds and one of them played with poor QBs last year.

    • So Willis had a good game against a poor defense and all of a sudden he is worth 50 million and is guaranteed to be better than Young. LOL I know he looked good in the 3 games he started, and I think he will have success long term, but anyone signing him up for a long term contract for 50 million is taking a huge risk.
    • Is he really though? Rivera was past his prime and probably shouldn't have even started 2019 so his firing wasn't really unexpected or unwarranted. Rhule lasted two and a half years which was about one year too long in my opinion. Bringing him back that third year certainly wasn't impulsive and I would say Tepper was more patient than he should have been. Wilks finished out that third season and did pretty good but most everyone could see he really wasn't anything more than an intern HC. Bringing him back was not the long term answer so not bringing him back was the correct call. Hiring Reich was a mistake from the beginning and he recognized that fairly quickly. I am sure he knew he was going to catch a lot of sh*t for firing him so quickly ( and boy did he ) but it was absolutely the right thing to do given everything that was going on. The firing may have looked impulsive, but I think it was him recognizing he had royally f*ck up and just dealt with it instead of letting it fester.  That brings us to Canales. 2025 was only his second season and yet he delivered 8 wins and the NFC South title. And while that might not sound great, given the lack of talent and cap space they started with, it's a strong step in the right direction. I couldn't imagine Tepper not being pleased with their progress given the crap the Panthers' have been though under his ownership.
