Panthers Release Jason Baker

I'm not sure that Baker is better than the "Canadian Dude". He was a stud in college and has done pretty damn well in Canada. It's too bad that the team that drafted him had a knee jerk reaction and cut him after one game.

Sure he is better. The fact one hasn't bounced around Canada should confirm that. Baker is just being a scapegoat for our pathetic kicking game on the board...coverage not who punted is why we sucked. So pathetic, coaches couldn't even let Baker actually use his leg.

again, I got no problem cutting him...but this move only saves us money...it doesn't help solve any problems on the field.

He didn't bounce around Canada because he sucked. He was a fuging Canadian All-Star. Baker may be being used as a scape goat, but he has definitely dropped off in productivity as well, regardless of coverage fails. Don't discount this new guy though, he's been pretty impressive everywhere he's been.

I don't care who kicks really. I do think Baker is a better pure punter than the Canadian kid but that doesn't really matter much.

    • I’m old enough to remember when I wanted to draft Njoku We brought back Mitchell and officially kept Tremble. Mitchell Evans isn’t going anywhere. Sanders who knows, he was awful last year I fully agree we need a better TE. This room is awful Njoku would be a massive help in the red zone. However it really seems like Dan and the FO prefer to go young on offense
    • You’re underselling Loveland imo. He’s so damn good. You can line him out wide and count on him to win 1 v 1. I don’t see that from Sadiq. Loveland is going to go over 1000 yards next season I’m not overly asking for a WR3. It’s just one of the few directions Morgan could go in round 1.  Let’s say Thieneman, Fano and Cooper are all on the board it’s a tough decision. I just don’t see how this team would take Sadiq over some of those guys given the way they run their offense. Our tight end room is easily bottom of the league so I can definitely see why someone would want a tight end though. At one point during the season I was on the Sadiq train as well. I just don’t think value wise for us specifically it makes sense given our team as a whole As far as tight ends go in this draft I really like Max Klare. Very smooth mover
    • Some of you need some serious help with the way 9 lives rent free in your heads I know for a fact, Dan loves Bryce. Bryce is his guy. This offense is very young and they’re asking Bryce to do a lot. With Idzik taking over playcalling duties it’s a move that is another step in the process of Bryce taking control of the offense. 24 years old. This youth movement on offense and putting more on 9’s shoulders is going to pay off in the long run
