I don't really understand how this question is a meaningful one. Are you just asking about our biggest need? When it comes to the draft, you just HAVE to involve the quality of the player because you're ultimately picking one player over the field, not one position over the field. It doesn't matter how much of a need you have at a certain position if your solution is a guy that ends up being a bust.

CB especially since we have to deal with Brees 2 times a year who easily carves us up. Vincent Jackson now in tampa. Julio and Roddy in atlanta. Captain cannot cover him and hogan is un proven

Football 101, Make the line / pass rush better and your DB's all of a sudden get much better. It all starts and ends with the lines.

We had so many injuries I find it funny looking at the positional poll.We drafted Hogan in the 4th but is he the real deal? We have Ron Edwards under contract for NT for the next 2 years.Do we need another? We have 2 of our 3 lbs coming back from serious injuries. Can we count on them?Rivera says a pass rush is a top priority. What does that imply and what position will it entail.

Lots of questions on defense this year and our team was so decimated last year even knowledgeable fans or NFL analyst cant figure out what we need to do.

My position that think we should take at #9 in this years draft is...

Whomever our FO decides to select. They know way more about the players than ANY of us do. I also trust them to select the player that will benefit the team in the biggest way, and right away.

Our Coaching Staff and FO are all over it. I trust them to make the best selection possible at the #9 spot and if they feel that they can get an impact player later, I trust that they will trade back to get more picks.

The bottom line is that I trust our staff to make the best selection period. It doesn't matter what I think, because what I think doesn't really matter. I'm not going to get all worked up for a process in which I have no controll over.

That's just me though... I'll sit here and patiently wait until our selections are made before I get all worked up, and even then will still know that the coaches and FO have a plan, and that there will still be several rounds of cuts league wide that we can fill any remaining holes b4 the season actually kicks off.

I smell blood in the water this year, I really feel as though the playoffs are a realistic expectation this season. So I'm pretty stoked about it!!!

G or OT. We let Bernadeau, Schwartz, and Wharton walk. Sure we acquired Bruce Campbell, but we are one injury away from playing someone that has no business starting on the O line. Protecting our franchise quarterback, ensuring that he has time in the pocket to continue to excel, and opening holes for the running back group we've invested so heavily in are obvious priorities for me. As an organization, the Panthers hope they aren't drafting in the top 10 again for a long time, and finding a top tackle or once in a decade guard prospect makes sense to me. I think Ron and Marty want to see what they have on defense once some players come back and they have more time in the offseason for coaching. I would be very surprised if we drafted DT in the first round. Marty invested two third round picks last year and he expects the staff to coach them up. With the return of Edwards as wlel, I just can't imagine DT being the first round pick.

Unless Claiborne falls, I expect Reiff, DeCastro, or Kuechly.
