The Panthers need to draft Luke Kuechly rather than a DT based on potential with there first round pick as long as no CB's are worth taking there. After reading the article we can't assume that Beason will be completely back to his former self, and we all no about Thomas Davis. Also, if we think about switching to a 3-4 defense in the future he could be paired with Beason....We made the sexy pick last year and that worked out great, but rather than guessing on a DT or DE who has a ton of potential that could bust and set the team back, we should take a player who will have a nice solid career as a pro.

This is my first post on this board, but that's how I feel about the draft. What do you guys think?

Also Attayiah Ellison, Nick Hayden, Corey Irvin, Terrell mcclain, and Sione Fua were the last 5 DT's that we drafted.....This team is going in a great direction and our free agents signings this year have been awesome while none of them being "sexy". So lets not take steps backwards by hoping these possible DT's will be different just because it's a "sexy" pick

And there are reports that the Panthers love Kuechly, and the last time Mr. Richardson loved someone he turned out to be a pretty great player. So rather than guessing on someone we like, why not go for the pick we love?

    • What people fail to understand is Lance had a college career that lasted about as long as teenage boys first intercourse.  To say he was raw was an understatement.  So much so that even a QB whisperer had a difficult time molding him into a polished NFL product on top of multiple nagging injuries.  The dud is in his mid-twenties, finally healthy and little miles on the tread.  Low risk, high reward.  If he's available, it would be stupid not to kick the tires.  It took Darnold and Mayfield to hit their 3rd or 4th team for things to finally click.  This is Lance's 3rd stop, I believe.  It's either time for it to click for him or be relegated to a full time backup. Roll the dice....
    • Wrong.  At least we put a QB sneak in the play book and and add plays over 20 yards.
    • I don’t know if people realize that Evan’s was one of the top TE prospects in college  before having some horrible injuries. I wanna say he had two major injuries in back to back seasons which limited his play and dropped his draft stock.
