Jon Beason Says Poe Would "shore Up Position"

They are solid players. But are nowhere near stud DT's.

I'll take solid any day of the week right now.

Canty had 47 tackles and 4 sacks

Joseph had 49 tackles and 2 sacks

That's a little bit better then Solid in my opinion. You would take that right now out of any of our DT wouldn't you?

I would. He produced in a very shaky line. All you need in one more guy in the interior. Cox would be that guy. Poe, to me is a bigger question mark than Cox. Cox has produced in a very good conference, he's one of the most versatile DT's in the draft. Brockers and Poe you're looking at upside. Cox it's upside and production. I will admit, Cox's ceiling is much lower than Brocker and Poe. That's the only snag that doesn't settle with me.

I also know I'm speculating, since he's not played, actually of them haven't, a down in the NFL. Still out of those three guys, I'd go with Cox, then Brockers, finally Poe. Poe is just too over hyped. You would think that in his conference he would be dominant. But he wasn't. He was a presence I won't deny him that. But he wasn't Dominant. Brockers was productive as well, but only one year. Cox is the only consistent one. Just going by logic here.

If you seen my post you would know I'm the president of the Bring Fletcher Cox to Carolina Fan CLub. So I agree. But I'm still not ready to give Shirley nor Krease a roster spot. I want to see a competition at DT and CB Like we will have at Safety and see who steps up.

is Edwards one of our young guys that can possibly become one of our core guys?

Nope.

And your point is?

I was not responding to a comment saying we don't have a young guy who can become 1 of our core guys. It was in response to a post that said we have smaller guys.

If you want to have that conversation then we can have it, but that is not what I was commenting on.

The fact that the Giants lost all their CB at times in the season and still was missing a lot of them in the playoffs but as soon as that Dline got healthy they became a force and won the superbowl. Kind of goes against your post.

Giants D was garbage overall this year. As far as the postseason went....NE doesn't throw deep and was a great matchup. Packers drop balls all over the field and shot themselves in the foot. SF plays ground and pound.

I mean they took it to Atlanta. Outside of that....they had good matchups and caught GB's offense on a day they played like poo.

Ah, nice. I may need to apply for said fan club. I'm still in this bandwagon. I may leave it soon. It's a pipe dream. I'd still think Shirley can produce even if Cox is in the line up. The rotation would be very good. I mean Cox could line up at the DE have Johnson, Shirley, Edwards, Cox. If Shirley steps up and becomes what we need in the interior line. Or whom ever in the interior in certain situations. Competition breeds greatness for sure. Cox would heat up that competition.

They beat up Greenbay and Atlanta then put pressure on Brady all day.

Best Case scenario Krease or Shirley work there way in taking over for Ron Edwards in a year or 2.
