I don't want any of those guys. Maybe Alshon. I am not worried about who will make more of an impact next season. We would have to cut Edwards, probably not Gettis or Laffel. I am thinking about impact 2 or 3 seasons down the road.

I would only really want Wright or Hill in the first two rounds (we would have to trade back or back into the bottom of the 1st).. And again MAYBE Alshon.in the second.

So again you would draft somebody in the 1st who would have no impact in his 1st season. Great strategy there.

Seriously, I've never seen people criminally underrate a prospect like this site does Floyd. I'd love to have him.

I don't see LaFell ever being a guy who can play #1. Gettis might be able to but we shouldn't bank on a 4/5th rounder (wherever he went) doing just that. I would have no issue with us taking Floyd and setting him up to be the future #1 for this team when Smitty retires.

6'2 215 4.6 40' Lafell

6'2 215 4.5 40' Floyd

6'3 210 4.3 40' Gettis

What him better then them please let me know.

I would draft somebody that I thought would be best for the future of the team. If he can make an impact next season, that's great. If in 2 years he can become a #1 receiver, then that is even better.

I don't share you sentiment that if we draft a WR we have to give up on Laffel or Gettis. I also don't think that means that a guy we draft can't have an impact in his first season. It isn't an either/or scenario in my opinion.

We need to make sure the pieces are in place when Smitty moves on. It doesn't have to be this year, but we need to start solidifying the long term stability of this offense and put the right people around Cam to be successful for the next 10 years, not the next 1 year.

We can do that next year after given the young WR a chance this year. I promise there will be some wr's to draft next year.

6'3 230 4.4 41' Johnson (Andre)

Guess Johnson isn't that much better than Gettis either, right?

There is a reason Floyd is a likely top fifteen selection and Gettis was a 6th rounder. Floyd is a superior talent. Watch them play. Yeah, maybe Gettis does end up becoming a good #1. It's possible. But to bank on it would be foolish. If you think Floyd's the best player on the board and aren't impressed with the others, you take him.

It's nice to be optimistic but also be a realist. Do you really think it's likely that Gettis/LaFell end up being better pros than Floyd? I'm not saying they can't. Never have. As a matter of fact, I'm a huge Gettis fan. But if Floyd is there and guys like Cox happen to be off the board, why not just take Floyd and make a strength stronger? What's the worst that can happen, we have 3 different options we can put at #1 when Smith retires? I'd rather take BPA than reach for a need. If Cox is gone and the team isn't impressed with someone like Brockers or Kuechly, why not take Floyd?
