Best Hands Of 2011 (Smith Ranked 19Th)

Recommended Posts

Just ask Goody how that worked for him. I do not see Smitty having a ball control issue. Sure he may drop a pass or two, but on the whole has outstanding hands. He is going to make a play far more often than he is going to put the ball on the groud. The whole, which is electrifying, is better than the few bad plays.

Don't take a couple bad plays and try and label somebody, especially someone as talented as Smitty, as fumble prone.

Im not labeling poo. Smitty's the greatest WR in Panther's history. But when you're getting chased and dragged down by two defenders you dont stick the ball out with one hand (unless you're sticking it across the goalline).

Look, I'm not trying to start a pissing contest, I just except more from an accomplished star vet like smitty. Smitty deserves the occasional f up from time to time, he's a playmaker and a firestarter, but not on a bonehead move like that.

Should break it down to how many yards the ball is in the air on average as compared to the drops.

Sproles and Welker's would be really low.

Jackson and Smith would probably be really high.

The more down field you throw it the harder to catch, and would show better hands....IMO.

I agree that they should look at guys who catch most of their passes further down the field than 10 yards differently than guys in WCOs who are catching 3 and 5 yard passes all day. Oh at least discuss who catches the best deep ball or intermediate pass instead of just total drops as a function of attempts.

Dude, I was just having some fun with you. I agree that play was probably one of the silliest plays he has ever had. I think, in an odd kinda way, we WAS tryng to keep the ball away from the defenders so they could not try to stryp it. It just backfired in a goofy way.

I will disagree that he was hotdogging it however. I just see a play that went terribly wrong. Probably lookied good in his head as it was happening. But the execution left a little ?mark on the whole deal.
