Cut Jimmy Clausen - Sign Troy Smith

Let's be REAL about this okay? Clausen showed no leadership or spark for this team, he came to this team as a know it all douche from where douche QB's manufactured which is Notre Dame. No one on this team looked to Clausen as a leader. Clausen had no ability to throw the long ball or the BALLS to stand in there and take a hit and deliver the ball.

No, why dont we be real here.

Seriously, if anyone thinks Troy Smith has more value than Clausen, then you are an idiot.

Sure Troy Smith has shown more bc he should be. Hes a more athletic QB who can use some of his ability to his advantage.

Jimmy was poor in his rookie year, but we all know that if he is coached and given the opportunity in the right situation, he could become a better QB than Smith will. He has starter capabilities.

lol at people thinkning Clausen can become tradable with a good camp.

Better QBs than Clausen aren't tradable. Clausen has zero trade value. Only way he could become tradable is if Cam got hurt and he played great in a scheme that plays completely against him....in real games

This is most likely accurate. I am still holding out hope since I believe he does have some tools. But admittedly it's a LONG shot

Jimmy has a weak skill set and plays just like he did at ND. Nothing suggests he is a starter....if coached.

Maybe a backup in a dink and dunk offense

You have yet to show how Clausen has more value. You don't have any evidence, no point in continuing to talk like you do. If you think Clausen being on a team currently means he has more value you are an idiot.

BTW since you have provided no evidence this wouldn't qualify as a debate.

College Stats:

Clausen: 8148 yards, 60 tds, 27 ints

Smith: 5720 yards, 54 tds, 13 ints

Draft:

Clausen: Round 2, no. 48

Smith: Round 5, no. 174

NFL:

Clausen: 1558 yards, 3 tds, 9 ints, 52.5% completion (1 year)

Smith: 1734 yards, 8 tds, 5 ints, 51.7% completion(4 years)

At this point and time trust me, Clausen has more value than Smith.

If you think that a qb who just got cut bc he couldnt beat out guys like Bryon Leftwich, Charlie Batch, and Jerrod Johnson would have more value than a Clausen, then good luck trying to sell that to anyone. And dont try saying things like Smith is a mobile qb so he should be a backup to Cam. Like I said, if Smith was really that good, he couldve find a way to still be on a team. Not like loosing his job to a Tyrod Talyor in Baltimore, couldnt beat out Alex Smith for the starting job in the 2010 season, and cant beat out two aging qbs and a no name in Pittsburgh. That's my point, so try again buddy. I know its hard to suck it in huh?

what suggest to you that Smith could be a starter?

at this point, both of them are pretty much backups or going to be out of this league sooner than later esp. Smith.

Jimmy? He still has some times to show something and he will be given the opportunity to do so due to his track records.

Smith? Hes pretty much done. He had his opportunities.

The only Qb's nuts I'm riding is Cam, so its not like I like Clausen any better than you guys. I'm just being realistic, and Clausen has more value than Smith right now.

College stats and where guys were drafted is pretty much irrelevant at this point.

Clausen was overdrafted. Played like a girl at ND. He made his OL look like poo at ND just like he did at Carolina.

Pocket presense is the one thing you can't teach. Clausen finally has been exposed....people wouldn't acknowledge it at ND.

Still Clausen has more value than Smith right now.

He will get the opportunity to prove himself again due to his "track record".

Like I said, Smith been given the opportunities plenty of times. You dont get much opportunities in the NFL and Smith had a few. Hey may not even be on a team once the season starts so to say that he has more value than Clausen is ridiculous.

No he doesnt. Clausen has no trade value....just like Smith didn't.
