Other franchise players not thrilled with Brees' complaints

Recommended Posts

My friend camped at William & Mary and said that Brees was a funny guy and down to earth. Now I don't agree with what he's doing, but when he put a Superbowl* in New Orleans he should have command of what he wants. We might not like it, but he has the leverage over the Saints** and in the end will get what he wants. People change their attitudes and typical mannerisms whenever money is involved.

Also, if they overpay him and he declines, then the Saints** are fugged.

I don't think anyone is looking bad at Brees for wating to be paid like one fo the top QB's in the league....because he is one.

His actions surrounding the CBA (trying to exempt himself from the franchise tag), the bountygate issue (constantly being a dick and idiot), and now the bullshit arbitration concerning his franchise tag.....all have shown that he is not the team first guy that most thought. He is a douche and a dishonest POS.

Well definitely he looks like a dumbass in denying the bounties. But, the OP was about the franchise tag and money, not the bounty.

Brees looks like an idiot by claiming that the Saitns are not negotiating in good faith. They have made him several offers that would make him the highest paid player in the league.

It is not his desire for the money....it is his constant lies and bitching in the media that show his true colors.

Exactly. When i got leverage at my job to get an extra $5,000 per season I used it to my full advantage & was fully prepared to be a dick about it.

    • I don't really care as much about athleticism and arm strength.  While Murray might be better in that regard, I think Bryce has enough of both to do well in the NFL. The main reason this trade reference is silly is the money and the fact that Murray has been around a long while and hasn't proven that he can perform consistently when the game is on the line.  Bryce has shown that he can play well in the clutch (in the few opportunities he has had).
    • If Bryce can continue the level of play he showed after the benching, then there's a good shot we at least compete to win the division. Tampa is a solid team but even last year in our week division they went 10-7 and will be on their 4th OC in as many years. The Saints are a mess and are in a mist of a half rebuild half still trying to compete mode and will probably be starting a rookie QB. The Falcons are a wild card as they have a really good offense but are we really crowning Michael Penix as a franchise QB after just 3 games?  The only thing I want out of this season is for Bryce to come out and without a shadow of a doubt prove he's our franchise QB. If that happens then most of the fanbase would be happy and I believe we'd be in a good place record wise at the end of the season. Maybe falling just short of winning the division with a chance to sneak in as a wild card team.
