South Carolina Shark Surprise

Hells yeah I saw this yesterday on reddit. I think the location is somewhere near Cherry Grove.

Man this is why I refuse to swim/chill in the canals/channels when at the beach. That water is murky and you have no idea what's lurking beneath.

Also, a poster on reddit said this is a "bull shark" I don't know wtf that means but my GF said that they won't attack humans. I would not want to take a chance because a shark will fug your world up.

BS on a bullshark attacking humans.

Most shark bites are by bull sharks because of the fact they like to come into brackish, channel areas. The water being so murky a shark would reaction bite in an instant and one that size will cause major problems if it got your thigh area and hit an artery. Most deaths are where people are hit once and bleed out before they can get to help.

from wiki

The bull shark, Carcharhinus leucas, also known as the Zambezi shark (UK: Zambesi shark) or unofficially Zambi in Africa and Nicaragua shark in Nicaragua, is a shark commonly found worldwide in warm, shallow waters along coasts and in rivers. The bull shark is known for its aggressive nature, predilection for warm shallow water, and presence in brackish and freshwater systems including estuaries and rivers.

The bull shark can thrive in both saltwater and freshwater and can travel far up rivers. They have even been known to travel as far up as Indiana in the Ohio River, although there have been few recorded attacks. They are probably responsible for the majority of near-shore shark attacks, including many attacks attributed to other species.[2] Bull sharks are not actually true freshwater sharks, despite their ability to survive in freshwater habitats (unlike the river sharks of the genus Glyphis).

Actually bull sharks, tiger sharks and great whites are the one's that attack human's the most. Bull Sharks swim in shallow water and that's why they are so dangerous to humans. Most time they won't kill you unless you bleed out but they are extremely agressive.

*edit* g5jamz beat me to it

There have been 5 shark "attacks" off MB this year. 4 in one day and 1 about a week earlier. Happened about a month ago and most likely bull sharks.

I go down there quite frequently and was there just last week and the only thing that has attack me is about 4 bottles of Sambuca and a couple of gallons of vodka. I barely escaped with my life.

I'm going to Oak Island with the fam for 9 days in the beginning of August. I think Oak Island is like an hour N of Myrtle. Nestled between Holden Beach and Cherry Grove.

Anyway, I like to swim in the ocean and I will go out far as long as I'm with someone. I like the rush, not gonna lie.

However, once I go out, and I don't care how deep it is, once something rubs up against my leg I am GTFO and not getting back in.

I also heard that when you see small schools of fish jumping out of the water around where the waves break, that is a sign that there is a shark around.

    • Any idea what happened to him at LSU? im reading that he was considered a 1st round pick in 2023, had an off 2024 season with only 4 sacks but was also on a horrible FSU team then went to LSU where he was supposed to be on an aggressive defense that should have given him a lot of sacks but he only ended up with one….   was he injured? Did the top SEC competition expose him? What happened? Cause this guy was considered a top prospect .
    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
