9-7 Could Win the Division

Recommended Posts

This is not your fathers NFC. There are 10 teams fighting for 6 spots. If you don't win your Division, you are talking about 6 teams for 2 spots. And that is with only the 49ers from the West, what if the Hawks or Cards join the party?

We need to start fast and put everyone in our rear view mirror. Otherwise it could be a tough road to hoe to make the playoffs.

The NFL Changes year to year. since 2002 (10 seasons) 9 Division winners have finished 9-7 or worse. It takes several variables for it to happen. For one thing, you need to play against good teams out of division and in the division. One argument is "our division is so good how could we all finish 9-7 or worse. Another argument would be "our division is so good how could one team dominate." 9-7 does not equal bad. Two recent teams have made the Super Bowl at 9-7

Yeah its always close. Some teams always fall off. You think for sure they are contenders and they are done by week 3. It looks like a tough conference but the Bears rarely live up to hype and the Lions are unstable. The NFC East has good teams but it comes back to beating each other. If two NFC East teams go 5-1 in the division they will certainly get a wild card, if they all go 3-3 it will be a tougher road.

I hear you. I am hoping for 4-2 (Or even better) in the Division. And 7-1 at home. That should give us a fighting chance. I know that is asking for a lot. But Why Not?

It would also help if we could get off to a fast start. Continue what we started last year. A good start could mean wonders for this team.
