It appears to be competition all the way around. It's been pointed out that he didn't mention the Safety position. Well he didn't mention the Kicker or Punter positions either. We know the competition is there, especially the Safety position, so I won't read to much into the oversight.

Yea, but I think he was saying there's still competition at the QB position, for the #2 spot, and that Cam was still treating it as if there was competition for his spot.

I think the high level message is that no one should be complacent. Despite the high hopes this team was 6-10 last year. High hopes and potential does not win football games.
