Keary Colbert Re-Signs With The Lions

Recommended Posts

Lions re-signed WR Keary Colbert.

Colbert, 27, had 47 catches as a rookie in 2004, the year Steve Smith missed all but one game with a broken leg. Colbert has since struggled to separate in numerous locations, be it due to weak burst off the line and/or route running. He's a poor fit for new Lions coordinator Scott Linehan's vertical offense and probably won't make the team.

I'm as guilty as anyone else in thinking LBF acts like a troll most of the time. However this time all he did was post relevant news on a former player's current whereabouts. Can't really fault him there.

    • Who were we going to trade up with? The Dolphins wanted Proctor, the Rams were vehement on taking Ty Simpson, the Ravens wanted Ioane, and the Bucs werent trading with us except for maybe a kings ransom. Even if we wanted to move, we had no partner. Moot point.
    • Devin Lloyd is a stud lb but who is next to him? Prince and Nic should improve. Lee was super value but i am not counting this fourth round chicken yet. I would expect some improvement; hope to eat my words w/ a top ten D.
    • I mean I agree about diminished Cam probably still being viable. Even though it gave a preview of how teams would defend the pass against a limited QB. There was an issue with the upcoming contract he was due to get and his expectations vs the new reality of his physical status - that people tend to  overlook when looking back on it  It had an effect on things I believe   But I do have to ask… what about Tepper’s second major move? fuging clueless   I mean I would take even an injured  Cam over Bryce all day long.
