There is nothing new about the routes our WR's run. They are the same as what is run on every other team pro and college. The routes should be in his muscle memory, just needs to get out there and run them.

I am more concerned with the chemistry with Cam. Cam hasn't thrown to him in a year. Ouch.

At this point, it honestly wouldn't shock me if Gettis didn't even make the team. Granted, that's probably a very long shot, but Rivera has never seemingly been a huge fan of his and with Murphy, Pilares, Adams, Armanti, and Ajreytuauxxxsadfchz getting all the reps they could decide to pull an Otah with him.

Regardless, though, it sure as hell seems like Murphy has the 3rd WR spot all but locked up.

Didn't he participate in OTA's? Cam threw to him I believe.

Me too, I want Gettis Back, i think he is a very Giffted WR, that has the ideal size speed to be a factor in the NFL. I am exited to get him back, but I would rather not rush anyone. If he gets healthy and getts a little playing time in a real game, he will open the Eyes of some people who have forgoten him.

We only have EIGHT more days of official training camp, how the hell is David Gettis gonna claim his spot, or even perfect the routes when he hasn't even been taken off the PUP list?

We also have more preseason games, not to mention its not impossible to overtake a starter in the season, you newb hurdlers are ridiculous.

Yeah, routes are routes but does Gettis have the verbiage of the playbook down and know his assignmnets. I'm sure that he's bee reading the playbook but until he gets on the field; run the correct routes, block who and when he's suppose to, he's behind the 8 ball so to speak, better yet Murphy...

    • I don't see it as drafting a premium player to sit and wait if Walker gets hurt. We need a legitimate swing T. Unless you have a Sewell or Slater type tackle that is pretty much a sure thing, these guys can need some time to develop year 1 just like a QB ideally should. They all haven't played the elite 5 star talent on the edge. If we think another franchise tackle has dropped to us at 19, you have to pull the trigger. The position is just too damn hard to find. If it's just a "we need a tackle and this guy has a T on the board", yeah, move on, take one in the later rounds. But if that guy is there, let him back up and learn a year, then slide him into LT on year 2 of his rookie deal.  I don't see us being able to offer Walker a multi year contract after a prove it year, pay Moton his final almost fully guaranteed year, Hunt, Lewis a center and do a 50-60m extension for Bryce. The 3 most important positions on the field are QB, blindside tackle (usually LT), and edge rusher. Those are the premium positions that cost the most and are hardest to come by. If a starting caliber talent is there at 19 you have to pull the trigger.  I understand the need for a DT and S. I've been on the C and FS train for years. If we weren't staring at a potential Bryce extension, it'd make the decision a lot easier I think. It's just with all these huge contracts I don't see how we can hedge our bets on being able or even wanting to re-sign Walker, especially if he has a bad year. Icky and BC's injuries really hurt our long term plans.  If no blue chip talent at those 3 key positions are available at 19, by all means pass and draft another position. But I think it's pretty safe to say we don't have a guaranteed lock at any of them right now beyond Phillips, and they have to be somewhat of a priority.
    • Not completely accurate. I'm sure Roy is lobbying for him and Larry Brown has spoke put in support too. But Hansbrough has made comments pretty critical and hinting at a need for change. Joel Berry has gone a step further and said the standard has not been met. Scott Williams who was a teammate of Hubert's at Carolina has gone all the way and said it's time for a change at head coach.
    • 4.25 according to the ACC network broadcast. If only this guy was a couple years younger but he’s still a dawg.
