Look at the deal the saints gave Curtis Lofton. James Anderson was cheaper and is a better LBer. Also I don't think Godfrey's contract is that bad either. Like everyone always says if our front 4 was better he wouldn't be making so many tackles down field.

Godfrey's deal is much much worse than Anderson's. Anderson is at least solid at his job. Godfrey can't tackle or cover.....yet this board still says year after year he can play. Godfrey is talented....but not a S despite us claiming he is

Godfrey isn't new....

We have had 3 drafts and 3 years to address S with an actual S......too many legit options to list.

Instead we gave a sweet deal to a guy whose physical talent doesn't translate to the position.

Here is a question, what does Godfrey do well? Only one thing and that is never the thing people name when trying to defend him

i wanted quintin mikell a few years back, hell even a yeremiah bell or laron landry would have been fine.

Don't get me wrong I would take Landry for 4 mill but it would be to play him at FS to pair with Godfrey. I know neither can cover very well but FS is a much bigger need to me than SS. But seriously the overall SS talent out there is slim.

jets made a couple championship games with slow , undersized white boys in jim leonard and eric smith. yoh dont need to be a superstar back there, just do your job

Edit: Oh and Martin and now Nakamura are not giving him any help back there either.

Anderson is not better than Lofton. Lofton is an upper tier MLB. Anderson is an adequate OLB.

Yeah but the jets front 7 and Cb's then take a big dumb on ours. Also I don't Disagree with you CRA a Landry and Martin combo could be pretty solid. I still want to see Martin out there now over Nakamura. I really don't understand why he is starting over Martin.
