Ok yeah, there is plenty of blame to go around and this game will definitely go down as one we really could have won. After the pain has subsided a bit I hope every one will remember how hard we fought against a really good team. We didnt protect the ball perfectly but we protected it very well. We made some big plays in key situations. Our D-Line may have actually solidified itself as a top ten candidate for the season at pass rushing which is something we havent had in years.

I will continue to say that our team has incredible heart even if we sometimes lack mental toughness. As our confidence grows and we go through another offseason (hopefully picking up some real talent) we will be a strong team going forward.

If the the players continue to show the passion they did today, the wins will come.

They will beat Seattle if they play this well next week.

I agree, the way we played today makes me feel comfortable going into the Seattle game at home. Good opportunity to get a quality win going into the bye.

We cant be disheartened this is our team they battled and deserved the win, its time to stomp Seattle and get back in the playoff race. Remember one team got exposed tonight and it was not us.

While I know what you meant... Us giving other teams a blueprint in how to beat ATL... It can be argued that they exposed the fact that our safeties SUCK... Nakamura specifically... Don't even feel like ranting so ill stop

The time for moral victories has passed. Time to execute and win. It's that simple.

Rivera is going to make a change in that secondary, I'm sure he's not happy with Nakamura's atrocious playing. If he changed Adams for Pilares, I'm willing to bet Nakamura is on his way to the bench.

I agree about the moral victories. I just believe this is as good as we can play. That is what I take from this game. This was our best shot, period. That is players and coaches. Our talent level is not up to par with the top teams of the league. And by that I mean our guys are either too small or too slow to compete at some key positions on the field and they dont have skill enough to overcome those talent deficiencies. So with that being said when the team gives it everything they have and they still put up a decent showing against a top team I have to give them props.

I disagree on one thing. This isn't the best we can be. I don't believe that by a long shot. Unfortunately this team is not running on all cylinders just yet. we are not a well oiled machine yet. I see us getting there mid season though, I would only hope we can get to that peak with a .500 or better record.

That would be something.

    • agree to disagree you are entitled to that opinion even though I find the argument completely bizarre based on data. I could type out a long paragraph discussing those areas but what’s the point. I posted a screenshot that showed Bryce in a similar post snap situation with a free rusher in his face which resulted in a TD - that’s what happened on the play so I posted it.
    • I've already addressed this notion in a previous reply. You are basing your assertion outside reality if you think Bryce would have not only been more successful but defeated the Patriots in place of Herbert. Bryce got blown off the field by that Patriots team with the highest paid OL in the league. We've seen Bryce with an OL that gave up 65 sacks and it resulted in the #1 pick. And that is not a defense of Herbert or arguing he is a great QB in any way. He has physical talent but he has been similar to Darnold early in his career in terms of his very up and down perfomances. However that does not change the fact that they have significantly less invested in the OL than the Panthers.
    • I think Tepper has been setting the stage where pending there is no miracle he wipes it all clean.  Think you already have been told that with small things like Evero staying.  Bryce is the guy next year.  OC, DC, everything stays the same.  QB room largely the same.  Nothing would really matter there.  They basically get one more shot and it goes how the schedule paired with our 27th ranked O predictably most likely goes.  Everyone out the door together.  Bryce is a bridge tier QB.  I don’t see Dave surviving where he could be bridge QB here in reality.
