Dexter Season 7

Yeah, I figured Mike wouldn't last long since he didn't have his own storyline on the side. But I kept watching last season's awkwardly paced episodes to see what the deal with Louis would be. When Batista threatened him, he freaked - I thought maybe he was an unstable, emotional guy who panic kills, confides in Dexter, then panic kills again and winds up on the table... something other than a quick bullet after revealing whose boat it was. Weak...

I don't see the point of having a software engineer take that internship, become infatuated by Dexter, date his babysitter, show his high levels of anxiety, just to have him be the guy who spills Dexter's name the next season. And speaking of babysitter... Dexter moved in with Deb, but Harrison didn't?

Ok, gotta stop thinking about it.

Spoilers below if you aren't caught up...

I think you guys might be missing the fact that Louis could very well still be a part of the story. He was killed on Dexter's boat. He just told Jamie that Dexter was trying to ruin his life as she was walking out on him. Jamie knows he has issues and he's suddenly disappeared. Meanwhile, we know nothing about Deb or the rest of the station's potential interest in why Louis is no longer around since Masuka fired him. I'm guessing that there are going to be questions about his disappearance from all angles. Maybe not...maybe they will just write him out of the show completely and the last episode tied all that up, but I think there's potential for his death and disappearance to still be a thorn in Dexter's side.

There was a camera cut to his blood on the boat. I'm thinking Dex will be investigated for his murder - Jamie knows they had beef and Deb knows he's a murderer. But I don't see that meshing with the mafia story.

Yeah its definitely looking better than I was expecting. The last two seasons took their tolls, I suppose.

I can't comment on season 6 because I didn't have Showtime during it, so still haven't seen it, but 5 seemed to never really get going...

I thought it was one of the best episodes of Dexter ever. After 2 years of spinning their tires with pointless storylines they're FINALLY moving the story along again. I really thought that the bull mask guy was creepy and that chase scene was really exciting. I'm also really loving Isaac. He's a pretty interesting character so far.

I came in here to post the same thing - one of the best episodes of the entire series. The direction and cinematography were incredible compared to the rest of the series. Speltzer was one of the best villians ever. And what I love the most is that I'm starting to see Dexter from Deb's point of view, rather than his own view of himself. All those people that stopped watching in season 3 or 4...it was worth the wait through some awful episodes and slow seasons (Exhibit A: Julia Stiles).

    • Biiiiiig eyeroll on this.  First, Look at historical stats of the most recent historical great DBs.  I plucked 3, Revis, Sherman, and Norman (cuzz he was our guy).  Combined post age 30, there are TWO pro bowls between those 3 and wanna get this...ZERO seasons with 16 games started.  ALL missed time.  It is RARE that Corners survive that long in the NFL and its about time we started recognizing this fact.  Jaycee is a good bet because it hasnt been anything seriously devastating injury wise, and with his sample size he could and should be an incredible piece for the panthers through age 30. Jaire kinda flops on the other side, hes 28...so hes under 30, but he wants his payday before it comes up, hes also been injury prone lately.  Bulk of the contract will be on opposite side of 30.  Will both of these guys help us be better in 2026?  SURE!  No doubt, but the question is, will these guys help us past 2026...not sure. The investment isnt worth the risk, nor would the ROI be anywhere close to worth it.  Neither guy is moving us from a 6-8 win team to a 8-10 team, period. My point is we're in this state a 6-8 win team IMO and he projects us as  a 4-6 win team.  EVEN if we think Jaire or Ramsey will make us a 6-8 win team, it in NO WAY is worth the money or capital to move that much just to suck kinda less.
    • I assumed he was retiring but apparently he plans on playing multiple more seasons.  Florida is gonna have trouble holding onto everyone.  Happens to all teams that have that much success.
    • I hate Marchand, but if he became a free agent.....
