Who returns punts this week?

I'd be willing to bet that it's Captain again. They might let AE give it another shot. Adams probably won't get another shot until someone fugs up.

This. I think Captain goes until we play a team that passes a lot more because then he'll be on defense more. Then we should see edwards.

I wouldn't be opposed to Edwards trying again. The blocking he had last year was beyond abysmal, although it's not much better this year. In his limited play time so far, he's looked a lot more confident. I'd like to see if that translates to the return game. He never fumbled a ball last year so at least there's not that concern like there is with Adams.

Joe will be back in there this week. Coaching staff sat his ass down to make a point. Hang on to the ball or you wont play.

With the almost devastating injury to kalil they may not let him dress just to have another linemen ready to go. If someones only skill is returning and others are already doing better I think they sit him again.

Realistically it needs to be Joe, we drafted him for special teams purposes; it's time to let him get adjusted to the life an NFL punt returner. If he hasn't figured it out by the end of the year, then it probably won't work out.

At least it was only a 4th rounder and not next years 2nd to convert him to WR from QB.

    • Canales was asked about Freeling at OTAs getting beat by Princely and Scourton.  He basically described the learning curve, and it sounds as if Freeling has a lot to learn before taking the job.  Walker gives us time.  Having said that, Motown talks like he has a few (2-3?) years left---and I would love to see it.   If you look at the contracts, It is a good bet that Hunt and Lewis are extended and given some guaranteed $$$ to lower the cap hit.  Lewis is about 29 and Hunt is 30, I believe.  That gives us about a 3-year window to start grooming their replacements.  Ickey seems to be the person who could be left without furniture in the musical chairs game.  I would move him to guard and use him like a Travelle Wharton--we have a good problem--we could have six or seven starting OL on the roster.  Of course, that won't last long.
    • I see this point and agree--However, someone is going to bite.  In fact, I think there will be some bluffing going on to make the desperate teams raise the stakes.  We shall see.
    • I could see a team like the Jets, Cardinals etc. bid a second round pick, get a year to see where he’s at, and still take a first round QB if he doesn’t show the right stuff. A risk well worth taking. I just wonder how much of a mental toll the last few months have taken on him?
