Observation of a weak fan base!

Sure we have our problems, but rest assured that a HUGE problem we have with this team is the fan base. I have often read post by SVP and others and thought, it can't be that bad! It is and then some!

I made the following observations from the Seachickens game:

1. Fans steady walking in during the first half. Why do you even bother? 8 seats in front of me were empty through the entire 1st quarter and then these fans come in all painted up and geared out after missing 25% of the game! Lol, had these two girls come in with 5 min left in the 2nd quarter wearing the blue and black with the face paint on....they left at halftime and never returned. Never cheered or yelled, just sat there on their phones!

2. Only near fight at the stadium was between two "panther" fans and get this, it was over standing and cheering. The guy that was standing and cheering was wearing an old Collins jersey, but it was obvious he was more of a fan than most in my section combined. It was also obvious he probably scraped to get the ticket and was financially able to buy the latest and greatest panther gear. The guy he was arguing with had the look of some one given the tickets from their corporate sales team. And all the while, these two are arguing and some Steve Urkel looking dude is playing up his Seachickens. But no, the argument is between panther fans.

3. Why doesn't our fan base rise up on every defensive snap? I only started hearing noise on 3rd downs? And like the other poster said, why are we making noise when our offense steps to the line? Our fan base are idiots! I can see some cheer as the huddle breaks but end it at the line!

4. Fans leaving out while there is still a chance to win! Fan cards need to be revoked!

5. Team store filled after a loss! Knock that off if you want the front office to get the point! You can wait till after a win to by that new hat.

6. After a massive search for tickets to the Dallas game, I'm convinced real Panther fans make up less than 25% of PSL owners. Something has to change in this!

My point to all of this is, let's fix our part before we try madden GMing this team. I'm in Virginia and can't be as "dedicated" as the locals, but I'm trying. As my income goes up over the years I dedicate a little more each year. I'm searching out for PSLs and have gotten some good info from real fans. My ultimate question is, how do we as a fan base start putting real fans in the seats? We need to create a hostile environment and then we can truly complain!

i used to buy in to the line of thinking that we had weak-ass pussy fans who didn't deserve their tickets because they didn't show up or didn't make enough noise or whatever.

this team has been a complete poo show since the 2008 playoff game. garbage on the field = garbage in the stands. people with PSLs who stick it out have my respect but i'm finding it harder and harder to poo on people who sell out or don't show.

I've been saying this for years. I sleep well at night because i do my fuging part. Our stadium is an embarrassment and will only get worse as the team continues to suck. Get ready for a stadium about 80% full of cowboy fans. Thank Marty Hurney for the home field disadvantage. We are in a bad way right now as a franchise and the hole we are in is pretty deep. Even with all the optimism at the beginning (which I never bought into) that saints game was 2/3 full. They still post the sellout streak number every game even when the stadium is half full. But people watching and attending know the truth. This team has a problem on its hands and things don't seem to be going in the right direction.

Every single one if the price right. I see your point but with the product that's been on the field over the years why not sell your tix to the Giants and Cowboys games and pay for your entire year? Panther fans want tickets half off face value (and why shouldn't they for what they are getting) while a Giant's or Cowboy's fan will give you 3x's or 4x's face value. Just like everything else, the only thing that fixes this is sustained winning.

Honestly I posted this in another topic and a few years ago I brought it up and was flamed for it....PSL's are a catch 22. It's great for a owner and the team. They will very rarely have a blackout game or not "sell out" a game because you have to buy the right to sell the ticket. The bad part is, you can have anyone view it as a business and make a profit off there tickets.

If you bought a psl and are tired of seeing a poo product.....why not try and turn it into a profit and sell it to a visiting team fan who hasn't seen them in 4-5 years for twice the value, or a local fan at ticket value? We won't establish a home field advantage until PSL's go away. They were great almost 20 years ago to build the stadium and establish the team, but times have changed......I honestly can't wait for the poo storm from PSL owners when the panthers want to build a new stadium.....

I have never and will never sell my tickets to an opposing fan. I'd rather eat the loss of money.

You might view it that way but sorry most PSL owners don't, and the companies who have mass amounts of PSL's don't either. It's a business and its how Jerry wanted it.
