So....here are my thoughts

This team needs to learn how to win from top to bottom! Screw Hurney, I would love to see him go, but that just means we get to start all over again and I'm not so sure we need that!

This team is at a pivotal moment and has been for a few weeks, they need a no excuses WIN! Had their chance at Atlanta, blew it! Had their chance with Seattle and blew it! LadyPanther, you are spot on with wanting one more week! If the team cannot regroup and get what it needs against a mediocre Cowboys squad then we are DONE! This team has lost in every way possible from coaching going stupid to players making critical mistakes and that's fine.......growing pains! But here we are with some recollection time and butthurt healing time, but in 8 days it is a must win situation in order to have something to build on! We lose? Then the team needs to move on and JR needs to make plans to put a new regime in place! I have no clue who, but for the sake of all careers involved, this team would have to go in a new direction!

This team as a whole needs some positives or everybody is going to stop caring!

Ladypanther, I agree with others regarding the juvenile nature of some of the posters here. You just have to feel sorry for them. A woman walks into a room or ventures into a thread, and they are so socially deficient that all they can say is show us your boobs or fix me a sandwich.

They can't get a date or find a partner and then wonder why.

Hopefully you understand the majority of us do not support or condone this kind of immaturity.

Partly because of the way last year unfolded. Slow start, then showing improvement. The Offense, especially Cam being electric. Finishing strong. There was great optimism headed into this year. The expectations were through the roof.

So far, those expectations have not come close to being met. And a lot of folks are extremely disappointed. To the point of disowning the Panthers all together. Which is just silly if you think about it. Giving up on a team you root for? Kinda counter-productive if you ask me.

That said. Very few teams win without a franchise QB. We have ours, now all we need is for him to learn to win.

Go ahead and give up. Me? I am too damn excited about the future to care where you are. I am not letting a bad start diminish my giddy over this team. The future is brighter than anytime in Panther history. And I am just glad to be along for the ride.

If you actually believe this year is as good as Cam is going to be? You are not a realist, you are dilusional.

If you actually believe the D and ST have not improved. You are not a realist, you are just not paying attention.

If you actually believe this team, as is, is not capable of winning. You are not a realist, you are a meme.

If you actually believe this team is not headed for greatness. Why are you here?

Ok, that's enough for now. If you are with me? Great. If not? Great.

here's the dilemma you have with this mindset....you may be sure of this and are ready to move on "sooner rather than later", but as much as people might call for it i hope you realize that rivera won't be going anywhere for another 2-3 years.

there is no "moving forward" at the moment.

what you do with that is up to you and you alone. you might be better off trying to be more open minded and giving him more time because the alternate is for you to spend the duration of rivera's tenure pissed off.

it's all a matter of perspective.

I know everone is frustrated. Hell, I am as well. I just don't understand the animosity?

By most fans accounts the Front Office doesn't care. Rivera can't coach. Cam is regressing. And basically the whole team is make up of wanna-bes and never weres. IMO, those folks are way too invested in the Panthers, and need some balance in their lives.

How can anyone not see the improvement in this team over the last 2 years? This team could whip the butt of almost any Panther team in history. And we have barely scratched the surface.

At least there is plenty of room here on the bandwagon.

Just because people see problems and want to discuss them doesn't make them less of a fan than the board's hard core homers.

As to your statement about improvement, yes, last year we saw improvement in the offense. This year, I think we are seeing the beginning of a better D, and special teams have looked better. However, overall, the team has not progressed over what we saw last year.

And your statement that this team could whip the butt of almost any Panther team in history is just flat ludicrous. You know it, and I know it.

We all want the same thing: more wins and a more consistent product on the field. It is just that some of us think it will require more than just hope and time for that to happen.

Never said anyone was less a fan. I stated that just maybe they are in over their heads. Discussing issues is not taboo. Fussing and whining are also acceptable.

IMO, at this point in time. There are far too many FANS ready to jump ship, throw everyone under the bus, and drop the Panther altogether. That over reaction is what I am harping on.

I guess I just never liked the cry-baby types. Quit and take their ball home types. The Panthers not doing well is an affront to their fandom. Those fans are pitiful.

I have been a football fan for over 50 years. I have heard it all, more than once. I have voiced my opinions as well. I just happen to believe that going overboard is just too funny. Everyone knows no one is going to quit being a Panther fan. So why would they even say such a silly thing?

And I said this team could whip almost any Panther team. And I believe it. If we play to our capabilities. At that level we are a very good football team. We just are not good enough to overcome muliple mistakes every game. That is my one main gripe. We cannot seem to stop shooting ourself in the foot.

I really like this response

I think this is what irritates most fans like myself right now... Blatant blind optimism

We're tired of hearing tales about how we're still "learning", 1-4 = 4-1 minus 3 plays, etc. We need results. Starting 1-4 for the past 4 years is horrible

is the "blatant blind optimist" hurting anyone or forcing their optimism on anyone? are they toting themselves as being better fans than others?

i think that's all in people's heads.

let people be blind homers. what does it hurt? it can't be any more annoying than those who claim to be fans but hate everything about the team and take every opportunity to express their loathing and disdain for the organization.

given a choice between the blind homer and the blind hater...i'm going to prefer the blind homers. i just can't stand negative creeps.

i think most fall in between somewhere, but there's an awful lot of assuming about what either extreme is thinking. people assume that homers are trying to tell others how to be good fans, but then they turn right around and tell the homers to get more realistic or whatever and that at some point they are going to have to come to grips with what is going on but in doing that they are becoming the most hypocritical people in the forum.

it just bugs me that there is a total lack of respect for people who have a different mindset and it has to be reduced to name-calling and belittling. if someone is more optimistic than you, so what? what's it to you? same with those who aren't as optimistic. is it a crime to be upset at how bad the team has been for several years?

Good teams make fewer mistakes.

We are making fewer mistakes this year than last. They just happen at the worst possible times.

All offseason folks claimed if our D and ST would step up, we could be good. They did, and we are not. Our offense is screwing the pooch right now. This was unexpected.

So! When the offense figures it out. We are going to be good. That very well could start next week against the cowpats. We all know the future is coming. Which helps explain all the fapping going on. The high expections are killing folks.

Wins feed on themselves. Every athlete at any level knows this. We had that going, then lost it. Just because I believe we can reverse that at any time, only means my belief is different from yours.

So yes. I believe this team is capable of winning, right now. Good Collins would be a good game. As would good Jake or Buerlein (sp). So there are not a lot of Panther teams we could not beat. Quit underestimating this team. Quit being so jaded. Just sit back and enjoy the damn ride already.

I am still giddy as all get out for this team. So GOOOOO CATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You make a bunch of good points. but that is the one I like best. It explains so much why the unhappy dislike the homerz so badly. In their misery, they cannot stand seeing ANYONE happy. It is like they have to have company. How can you be happy? You must not be paying attention? LOL I love it.

I can respect their pain. I just don't happen to share it.

How can you look at where we were two years ago, compared to where we should be? And NOT be excited? A bump in the road is all we are going through. Let the wife have a cancer scare, and then try and find a reason to bitch about where the Panthers are headed.

We do have hope. What more do you need? Or is there some aspect of hope I am missing? Nah, I'm good.

Every negative you can bring up. I can bring up something positive. Here I'll go first.

We not only have a Franchise QB. We have a prototype for the future.

what improvement has this team shown? special teams by default because mare is gone?

Coverage team is vastly improved, helps that both kickers have a strong legs. No long returns, or tuchdowns. I call that improved. I no longer cringe on punts and kickoffs.

Return game is not spectacular I admit. But not every team has great returners. So for me, no turnovers means good enough. IF Adams can figure it out, he could be an asset as well.

So I ask you? What do you see that makes you say that?
