Whoo, the Disrespect Begins!

Recommended Posts

The average ranking is about 15, close to the same as last year.

Much of the offseason talk surrounded Julius Peppers, and it put a negative light on the whole team. Jake Delhomme is one more year removed from his Tommy John surgery, the offensive line and running game is outstanding, and expectations are low enough that few are counting on them to do well. Whenever that happens, the Panthers play well.

Sorry. I can't get the taste of that last game out of my mouth. That was as bad a game as I've seen a playoff quarterback play in years, and as much as I admire Jake Delhomme as a person and like him as a player, I'm going to have to see him play better than the guy who was just OK (59 percent completions, 206 passing yards a game) last year...

The Panthers just gave Jake Delhomme a 5-year, $42.5 million extension. Crazy, right? Well, think about it. The Panthers lost in the Doggone Playoff because Delhomme's son was kidnapped, so he had to throw the game. With this new money, Delhomme can actually offer the kidnappers cash instead of the promise of a fixed game.

The Arizona game destroyed any respect we had coming. So get used to it and don't complain about it all year! Not directed at you, but at Panther fans in general who feel dissed. :cheers2:

Only team immune to being destroyed in the first round is the Cowboys who always rank top 15 no matter how many times they fail.

    • This is what I mean. I am not some huge BY fan. I honestly don't look at QBs the way a lot of you guys do. Right or wrong, I've always looked at them as just another cog in the machine. Didn't want BY or even a trade up for a QB in 2023. We saw in the Super Bowl how important the rest of the team is on any given Sunday. Now... so PFF, who has no reason to prop up BY, says he's first in 2 stat lines and Panthers "fans" are arguing why it's either wrong or a made up stat just to make BY look good. Even though they have multiple stat lines where he's literally last in. Like 32nd in the NFL. Some he's even lower than 32. Take a step back. Try to objectively self analyze. This is just not sensible.  Same thing I see with other teams' fans and their QBs though. We analyze every single throw on every single play. For every other QB, most here are only using highlights to judge. Makes a difference. We saw Stafford miss throws when they played Carolina - both games. We saw Love throw crap up when they played Carolina. We saw Dak miss throws when they played Carolina - and Pickens was putting on a SHOW. We saw Josh Allen win a game with 163 yards passing against Carolina, but if BY does it he's crap and can't pass for 200 yards. Gents... come on.
    • None of us think we're contenders this season but no reason we're doomed to 5 or 6 wins either. Dan has to have another 2025- like draft class and at least 2 key free agent signings. We're not Seattle but they don't win without 5 starters from their last 2 draft classes and Darnold and Lawrence in free agency.  Alas,  we'll have to wait one more season for a QB upgrade.
