American Horror Story: Asylum

Thought it was interesting that they started the show off early using the music from Carrie. Correlations of religious values vs. scientific knowledge and advancements seems to be where they are going.

Also they are borrowing from Carrie with the buckets of animal flesh.

I thought it looked promising. They will be diving a lot deeper, a lot darker this year. I hope this show doesn't become a shock value show. I thought the alien story line was out of place. Jessica Lange delivered quite nicely in her role. The writing was great last season, and it seems they are setting up some interesting story lines.

I finally saw the Pilot for season 1 and thought it was really stupid. I love everything horror (campy, smart, gratuitous) and want to give the show a fair chance - so I am not knocking the show after 1 episode.

Is it worth finishing out the season and will it grow on me?

  • 2 weeks later...

so i caught the latter half of last night's episode and it seemed like some wild poo going on.

i haven't watched the first american horror story or the 1st episode of asylum... should i?

The first one was very mild by comparison to Asylum. AHS season 1 was weird and more of a mindfug, but was still tame. I liked it, but if you don't have time to go watch it, you aren't missing a whole lot. Asylum is pretty much kickass IMO and is like a nightmare being realized. Imagine going to an asylum where nobody knows you're there, or those that do are the ones that put you there. On one side is a crazy guy doing crazy things for science, and the other side is a crazy nun doing crazy things for religion. It's pretty cool IMO. I would def go watch the episodes you missed of asylum, but season one isn't necessary.

    • Unfortunately business is business especially when there are large sums of money on the table. Goes the same for player and ownership. Does not make it right either way.  Why would he not want to play for the niners? Closer to home with a team that has a chance of delivering a SB trophy.
    • I don’t know if it’s him bad mouthing his former situation in public or my pettiness but either way I’m not a fan. Dude was on playoff teams getting paid millions to entertain. I’m not better that because and I am better than that. You don’t bad mouth your former employer in public. Esp after getting over paid and two, poor little Russian baby didn’t get the playing spot he wanted. Rod had him exactly where is was supposed to be.  He had a mean lip check and did defend our players. Specifically the devils game around Christmas where is our Haula on his ass. Cool. Thank you. But don’t talk poo about us. Because it make you look like Haula.    “need to get as far away as possible”. fug off. Didn’t see Burnsy bad mouthing and his play dropped off too.    sorry, but Orlov doesn’t get a pass from me. See you twice a year…
    • I don't really care about your post at all. I just saw the direction of the discussion and this snippet from an article I read earlier in the day was a good spot to put non-Panthers info. I mostly don't care about the players personal lives. That's off the field/personal poo. Not really any of my business.  I also don't know him personally so what would be the point of congratulating him outside basically attempting to draw attention to myself like so many in the social media/internet realm.
