Who are the coaches you'd love to have going into next season?

Mine:

1. Gus Bradley - DC, Seattle Seahawks

Gus Bradley is one of the up and coming coordinators in the league right now. I know we've gone the "hot coordinator" route before, but, it seems like the best route to go, especially in the absolute rebuilding process (which is what we would be in if we hired a new GM/head coach). Monty Kiffin gave his personal recommendation for Bradley when Mora was coach in Seattle, and the guy has had a defense that is progressively getting better.

The guy has drafted incredible players, while adding players through free agency, to bolster his secondary to be one of the best in the league.

2. Wade Phillips - DC, Houston Texans

I know, I know. Everyone thinks that Wade Phillips is a bum, not just Bum's son. He had a rough go of it in Dallas, I know, and he's 1-5 in the playoffs. But, the guy has a winning record where he goes. Not only that, but he has instantly changed the defense into something special in each place he has gone. We would really need a season to transition into Wade's blitzing 34 system, and we'd need to get a really strong OC that could control that entire side of the ball (not Chud, obviously). But, in the end, our defense could be one of the best in the NFC, and we could really get back to a dominant running game.

3. Will Muschamp - HC, Florida

Premature? Maybe. But Will Muschamp is a guy who understands how to win. He won while at Texas, he's winning while at Florida, and he does it in a true NFL fashion. Win in the trenches, win with the defensive line, and win by establishing the run. Will Muschamp has been an assistant head coach in the NFL on the 2005 Miami Dolphins team, after which he went back to college to be a DC and subsequently a head coach.

One thing Muschamp brings to the table is emotions. Muschamp is the antithesis of Rivera. He's yelling, screaming, and cheering on his players. He's like a younger, more exuberant version of Pete Carroll. Also, another thing, if we kept some sort of remnants of the spread offense (with or without the read-option), Muschamp would know it like the back of his hand, having to defend against it all of his years spent coordinating in college.

i don't care one iota about coaches or coordinators until we resolve the problem at GM. at this point getting new coaches is treating the symptom rather than the disease.

we don't need band-aids, we need antibiotics.

I absolutely agree.

This is a list of head coaches, with the assumption that Hurney has already been cast away.

      100%. And these same people will claim you have an agenda. You can't have it every way. We had the lowest rated defense in the league last year. Statistically the worst ever. By PFF grades (for whatever that's worth- but they are readily accepted, used, and conveyed by most "reputable" sources), the defense was the worst ever. Not only that, PFF rated our receiving corp the worst in football last season. The absolute worst... out of 32 teams. Which is why regardless of the lip service Canales and Morgan paid to the current guys, they knew it would be criminal not to give Bryce more help. People fixating on team stats and not taking these things into context are stupid, plain and simple, and I'm for one thankful they're not running this team (or probably anything for that matter bc they obviously can't discern reality. Again, going back to the eyeball test these Narrative Nancies seem to hate so much, did they not see the windows Bryce was putting balls into? Have the generally not watched much NFL? Please, please show me the film where all these NFL QBs are making throws like this to this point Bryce was "below average" down the stretch compared to them. Bryce made more wow throws in that 3 game stretch of the Bucs, Chiefs, and Eagles than every other QB combined in all the years since since Cam got hurt I genuinely am baffled by people that can watch throws like that and act like it's nothing. I guarantee you Steve Spagnola, Todd Bowles, and and Vic Fangio didn't think it was nothing after watching the little guy torch them with players those teams would be embarrassed to trot out at the skill position players. The national media spent all year making excuses for Mahomes not having elite weapons when he had multiple 1st & 2nd round talents at the skill positions along with future HoFers in Kelce and Hopkins. Bryce wasn't throwing for 300 yards every week with David Moore and Adam Theilen in spite of jaw dropping throws and you want to say the guy played below average. For those people, again, we ain't watching the same sport. And the name calling doesn't change that... The vitriol and projection... it's off the effing charts with these people.
