No draft picks for us this year.

To expand upon what others have said, Portland's pick that they owe to us is top 12 protected, not lottery protected.

ok.

It looks like our pick will be going to Chicago if we continue to play hard.

Portland is doing better than expected....we may get their pick this season and have a pick

that is 13 or higher.

I love the direction of the team and the improvement from last year is amazing, but I still think the bobcats pick in the top 12 this year. No solid and consistent low post presence wil end up hurting as the season goes along. Chicago gets that pick next year. I do think we end up with portlands pick as well and get detroits pick in a year or two.

My thoughts are that we are going to lose a pick to Chicago regardless....i would much rather give it up this year when the draft is below average....u have Zeller / Noel and Shabaz and then after that its garbage....let them have the pick this year so we can get it over with ...and then we will prob have two 1st round picks in both 2014 and 2015....or maybe even three 1st round picks in 1 of those year....im ok with not having a pick this year...we will have 10-15 million to play with and we can go after 1 of the big man free agents...there r several guys....Milsap / Jefferson / Hickson / Landry / Pekovic / David West / Kevin Seraphin / Dejuan Blair / Josh Smith ( not interested ) / Robin Lopez...ect......the free agent class for Bigs is loaded......

I like Hickson as well.....we either tried to sign him or trade for him last year and it didnt work out ...so we definately have interest.....there really are alot of PF's and Centers this summer....we should be able to get 1 of those guys....Milsap is my # 1 choice but if we cant get him then i really like Hickson and David West......Milsap will probably demand 10 + ,million a year...West probably 8-10 and Hickson 6-8....i think Milsap is worth every penny...ever since he has gotten big minutes 3 years ago he has averaged 17 points and 8-9 rbds....our starting 5 and bench would look like this

Starters = PG-Kemba Walker , SG-Gerald Henderson , SF- MKG , PF-Milsap , C-Haywood/Mullens

Bench= PG-Ramon Sessions , SG-Ben Gordon , SF-Jeff Taylor , PF-Bizmack/Mullens ( draft pick ) , C-Bizmack/Mullens (draft pick )

i really like this squad...obviously it isnt including the actual player we draft or the other smaller free agents we sign....not only do we have a really good starting 5 but our bench is very strong.....our bench listed here is probably better then our starters last year

Yeah I think I said in another thread Millsap would be my number 1 option in FA. I think we would have to pay around 4 years/45 million, but he is worth it. I also think he is the best type of FA we can get to come to Charlotte (think 2nd best player on a championship team)

    • Meh… I wish there was a network that has all sports.  This thing will fail.
    • Neither Barkley nor even a healthy CMC would move the needle much for us. Those are guys that impact teams that already have impressive overall offenses and defenses, so they can perform the complimentary roles that make them actually valuable. We should know that specifically because CMC almost never moved the needle on bad Panthers team after bad Panthers team. Ask Giants fans about that with Saquon.
    • I would generally disagree. You see a lot more load management than previously but that is because being healthy in the playoffs is such a key factor. Different philosophies in that regard than previous generations.  Baseball really doesn't matter until at least halfway through the season. I am not gonna say they don't play hard but the physical demands are infinitesimal in the MLB in comparison to basically any other major pro sport.  People dislike all the shooting these days but that's a direct correlation with how much the overall skill level of the average NBA player has drastically risen over the past 15ish years. There are other aggravating factors, certainly, but that is the biggest one in terms of playing style differences. So many of the guys from the 80's and 90's wouldn't even be able to play in the modern NBA at all. The biggest problem the NBA has with the American market(they are the only US sport that has any real international appeal or interest, minus the NHL) is that they are so steadily corrupt and fix the systems against the small market teams. Well, you eventually lose a big chunk of the league viewership/potential viewership in the process. Take the very obviously fixed NBA draft lotteries. Superstar and upper tier star players rarely want to play for small market teams, nor can they usually afford to pay them. So how do you expect them to possibly compete in that environment?
