JONES COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- A Camp Lejeune Marine is behind bars after being accused of crimes against animals. After receiving a tip from a concerned citizen and Onslow County DSS, Mark David Harpel was arrested for crimes against nature.

Harpel, a Marine staff sergeant, is in the Jones County Jail facing seven felony counts of crimes against nature and seven misdemeanor counts of solicitation.

Investigators got a tip of allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior between the Marine and neighborhood dogs, as well as his possible viewing of internet pornography in the presence of his kids.

Harpel is in jail under $14,000. He may also face animal cruelty and other charges.

I've always said that you must have had too much sex to get to the point in your life when you are having sex with animals.

One does not go from missionary to robbing the kennel over night. It is a long process of sexual exploration. I wouldn't be surprised if this guy has gotten off on animals in Afghanistan.
