Panthers PR guy is tired of fictional stories about Cam

Great post/info Fiz.

Good to hear about Cam and that's kind of what I expected of him, but the media doesn't want him to be that so they paint him in a totally different light.

Sad to hear about Ray Lewis if that source is credible. I always held out hope that he didn't do that himself and just covered it up for his associates, but they were never able to find his suit from that night, so... Crazy that he's so revered, by both fans and players, when you look at it in that scope.

The media knows that about Cam.Just like they know who the real prima Donna are. The media don't want folks to know the real Cam because in their eyes he's already way to perfect in image.

Plus, there are quite an audience who hates Cam and it those folks media reaches out to because in the end it's really about them and the Cam supporters and haters hitting their site and keeping them in business.

If Cam didn't have so many envious haters the media wouldn't be taking any and everything he does to create controversy with it.

Jerry Springer gets ratings too.

The Golden Calf of Bristol is an awful quarterback. They know it, but they also know he gets ratings/clicks/whatever.

In all honesty, I don't think The Golden Calf of Bristol draws as much attention now as he did when he was with the Broncos. I believe it's folks on ESPN wanting to keep the The Golden Calf of Bristol story going because they can. When they publically announced they were going to cut back on the The Golden Calf of Bristol talk, I was quite surprise they were so willing to admit that all the The Golden Calf of Bristol conversations were more them pushing than folks wanting.

WFNZ isn't a real, legitimate sports talk station. We listen to it because it's the only thing on. Like I've said before, I'm really pulling for ESPN730 to take off.

Are you serious? Before wfnz, who was here? They've been there for the longest time and have a lot of affiliates in the Carolinas. Before the Drive came on the other show with the guy who's name escapes me was the best show on there. They've been featured on ESPN as well for breaking some news and other local events. They are legit as it gets. With that being said, it doesn't mean they are the best... but they are legit.

Havent really heard anything fabricated about Cam in terms of local media other than a lot of dumb callers on WFNZ. I also generally like WFNZ except Marc James who I also generally like is such a kiss ass. A couple of weeks ago he was talking poo about Steve Smith and low and behold Steve was on the show and Marc was jock sniffing him like a pro.

Really other than Cam throwing his elderly neighbor down the stairs of his condo for not addresing him as "Ace Boogie" I havent heard too many negative stories about him...But hey you have to address him by his nickname...old guy deserved it in my opinion.

Oh the other one was some drunk Alabama fan was yelling at him saying lame crap like Sir Cameron Newton: Leader of Men, Lover of Puppies...Esquire!!...drops to the ground with a seizure..Cam goes and recessitates him...as he started to thank Cam for saving his life Cam chokes him out into a coma where he woke up just last week only to have a Huddler tell him all about the historic numbers Newton has put up in the NFL.

Amazed and finally understanding his own ignorance of Ace Boogies greatness The Alabama fan thanked the Huddler then agreed that Rivera should be fired and then proceeded to turn into pure energy in the 5th dimension on Dec. 21st!!

Made up? Sorry PR guy..too much detail for me to think that this isnt true.

    • I don't think it was fear of the unknown because he tried to hide the extent of the injuries that made him drop. After the drop, the reports I heard were that teams knew what was wrong with his knee and it was something similar to another athlete from a few years ago (honestly don't remember if it was even a football player).  That it was basically one of those things where he should be fine for a while, there isn't a huge concern of immediate injury risk.   But what he has going on with his knee is something that is degenerative and there's little chance he'll be able to play more than 5 or so years on it before he won't be able to play anymore. So basically it was teams knowing if they draft him, he's probably going to be only a rookie contract player and even if he's great, you might not be able to get use out of him on a second contract.  Which in turn makes the drop make sense, but I'm kinda surprised some contending team didn't take him late in the 1st, hoping he'd put them over the top on a SB run but then not even have to worry about giving him a big contract in 4 years too.
    • Depends if they see the writing on the wall with their roster and contracts and decide to bite the bullet and begin a complete rebuild and roster overhaul.  I have no clue why some franchises (IE us) refuse to do this and keep half assing trying to win 8 games or so.  Do it correctly, take your lumps and build a contender.  We shall see what loomis decides.
    • Each team plays 17 games.  I do not see why they don't just have each team play one international game per year.  Neutral site game, 8 home, 8 away.
