Pat Y at it again about Beane.

At least for the moment, the Carolina Panthers are proceeding with business as usual.

Per Pat Y... Earlier Monday, coach Ron Rivera, whose future with the team has been the center of much speculation, addressed the media and said he hopes to keep his job. Rivera said he expects to meet with owner Jerry Richardson soon.

As of Monday night, interim general manager Brandon Beane also still appeared to be acting as the general manager. Several writers covering the Chic-fil-A Bowl in the Georgia Dome have told me Beane’s name is on the seating chart in the press box.

Apparently, Beane will be scouting the game between LSU and Clemson. Beane is a long-time team employee, but his previous role focused much more on logistics, such as team travel and making training camp arrangements, than on personnel matters.

But I’ve been told not to be surprised if Beane ends up as the permanent general manager. Beane may not have the deep football background, but Richardson may view him as someone who can be a strong administrator that can act as a go-between among coaches, the personnel and salary-cap departments and the business side of operations.

It still is possible Richardson could go outside for a general manager, but there are no indications he is in strong pursuit of anyone else

Im really starting to think Pat Y is a troll or him and Beane are lovers. He just wont stop.

    • Cam was hitting his stride as a QB in 2017/2018.     This is why I think stats like completion percentage are overrated. As long as a QB is clutch and makes the throws to win the game the rest doesn’t really matter. What good is a check down stat padder if they’re a choker.  Until Norv Turner (and briefly Chud) got here we put Cam in high pressure throwing situations all the time. We also ran the ball on first down more than most teams in the NFL in the Ron era. Coupled with shitty WRs, all that is expressed in his stats. I also assume Cam took the ball in his hands on many occasions rather than trust Funchess to catch the ball.    It was also never Cams job to play the game like someone else. His presence on the field dictated the game in a way that is rarely seen.  He showed he could play the dink and dunk game just before TJ Watt. That didn’t suddenly make him better than his earlier seasons. He just got put in a legit under center  passing game again for first time since his rookie year with Chud.    Ron took the quickest path to success and abused the RPO because his ass was about to get fired.    Cam never got the credit for being the cerebral player that he was. I just think when you are legitimately a human Superman, sometimes the best play is having the ball in your hands. He was a better passer than Delhomme was.
    • I don't think Canales has any problem benching Bryce or moving on if Bryce doesn't come out playing like the end of last year.  It's year 3 no more excuses for Bryce
    • Yea Bryce was definitely a top half qb the second half of last season but I'm not sure Canales is 100% sold on him.  Like I've said in another post I think that's part of why we talked to so many South Carolina players in the draft process.  I think they are doing early due diligence on Sellers just in case.
