The Browns are closing in on Chip Kelly

Hahaha Welp fellas, we missed out on Harbaugh and now look at the niners.

The Browns will be a totally different team now and become a force to be reckon with.

The situation Harbaugh conveniently walked into in San Francisco is like night and day in comparison to what Chip Kelly will soon inherit. We're talking the Browns here. I wish Kelly the best of luck, that's all I can say.

If Kelly becomes HC of the Browns they will probably be improved in 2013 but i wouldn't expect them to be a playoff type team overnight. Remember, this is the Browns we're talking about.

The Browns actually have really good pieces on their team. The one position that they have lacked for the past decade though, just happens to be the most important on the field. If Kelly could find some QB, I think they could be decent, but finding one is going to be a nightmare.

You guys do realize the Browns have a new owner, right? They are being remade top to bottom.

I wouldn't assume they will continue to suck.

You're right, but it's going to be hard for them to win, because they have to find a QB.

But, that division is finally starting to age. Baltimore is old, as are the Steelers, and the Bengals looked like a mess most of this past season. Being a fast, up-tempo offense could really start to show the age of those teams.

They would beat out the Bengals, Steelers, AND Ravens? They all went to the playoffs last year and two are in this year.

Sure, Kelly will turn them around, but they won't make the playoffs.

didn't say they'd win the division...just make the playoffs.

steelers aren't much anymore. ravens are on the decline. bengals are the bengals.

and it's the AFC. it's not like they are a powerhouse of a conference.

I doubt they will be next year. The Niners were a team with a lot of talent & a horrible HC.

teams with new QBs rarely find success these days.

I'll remember to bump this thread when the Browns and Chip Kelly have a better record than Ron Rivera and the Panthers.

The Browns are one of the only tems that have less tlaent on the roster than us

But I mean a coach will change all of that in one season okay if you say so Bwood.

    • I can say that I have defended Canales because I get that they are doing all they can to keep from looking like idiots for drafting Bryce, from the trade up to signing $150m guards to drafting XL and Brooks etc---nothing seems to work.  And Hiring Canales was part of the Bryce Young rehab program, so so he can't really decide to "move on."  That has to come from Morgan and Tepper. Personally, I think Bryce is due for an injury.  He is small, he is not thick, and he has been a LOT more healthy than most any other QB has who has endured so much pressure.  The thing that bothers me is this---Bryce really does not go through his progressions quickly.  He locks on to his presnap read and stays locked onto him for too long--he seems to fail to anticipate the WR/TE's positioning on the play before the cut--for example, if the WR is running a dig and the CB has his back to the inside of the field, he should be open for a second or less just after the cut.  He seems to wait until the cut has been made before deciding, then checking down quickly while moving in the pocket. OL:  There seems to be a lack of communication--is that on Mays?  Watch this team presnap--they seem a bit confused at times.   I can almost predict the success rate of the play by watching the center and QB before the snap.
    • Anyone else remember back in 2010 when Fox piloted having music under the in-game replays during one of Carolina's games? Not the commercial bumpers but the actual replay clips that the announcers would talk over. Pretty sure it was vs the 49ers. And it was terrible. Point being, Carolina continues being so bad that we get the networks trying things out during their games.
    • Is it bad I found this video more hilarious than pathetic? I am still laughing at that one play where half the people on the field ran into each other and Bryce still couldn't see Chuba wide open... Also laughing at Cade blocking nobody and somehow losing his cleat Man this offense is a poo show
