Beason a June 1st cut?

Would save us cap space this year....and if we cut Gamble (also cap savings) this year it would make 2014 essentially a wash in terms of cap impact with Beason's signing bonus taking up Gamble's 2014 savings, right?

Hurney really screwed us. 2014 being in such bad shape really handcuffs the "magic" we can pull off.

Beason would still count against our cap even if he's cut. We're not cutting Beason.

I am talking about creating cap space, of course he would still have an impact towards it in a cut. But a June 1 cut would create 2013 space right? It just throws a larger chunk toward 2014.

Luke is our MLB. The future of our D.

Beason is too expensive considering what he now is....

If anything, I rather cut Anderson. Would cutting Anderson help save any cap or are we going to take a hit?

And I read on PFT that we can carry a little over 3mill this upcoming season. Unlike Philly who has 23mill to carry over.

Anderson is healthy. That factors in. he isn't coming off back to back years of IR

We should keep him. More good players on defense the better.

he hasn't been a good player on D in yearS.

Doubtful he will be in 2013. Odds against it.

His job is also gone, making him more of a situational LB

The fact he was a great player, leader, and rep of our franchise does get thrown out the window to a degree when looking forward. Sucks he got hurt. We can't afford to hold out hope like we did with Davis for multiple guys.

    • Trade up for a project was dumb, he's gonna be 25 next month. By the time you're deciding on whether he's worth the 5th year option or a big contract you're already gonna be thinking about moving on soon either way.
    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
