How about cutting Beason instead of Willliams.

Many are advocating cutting Williams as he would save us as much as 5 million against this years cap and 2.8 million 14. For a total savings us 7.8 million over the next 2 years and then his full hit of 10.2 million in 15. For a grand total of 18 million thru 15.

Conversely we can cut Beason and save 5.5 million this year and then 2.75 in 14. For a total of 8.25 over the next 2 years and a grand total of 20 million thru 15.

It more savings in the short term and long term.

Can anyone argue Beason has more value to this team than Williams does at this point?

Basically we make 3 cuts(Gamble,Ron Edwards, and Beason). These 3 moves would save 15.9 million. Putting us roughly 6 million under the cap.

Then we can still restructure Gross and lower his cap figure a ton and then release some other scrubs and now were ready to go make some improvements in free agency.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are your numbers are all over the place and you throw around savings as if we are actually saving money which we aren't. We will have a ton of dead cap space no matter which we get rid of. 9.6 million if we get rid of Williams and 12 million in signing bonus and 3.5 million of his 2013 salary or 15 million dollars for Beason. Even at a June 1st cut it would be 7.5 million this year and 8 million next.

If we cut Beason before June 1st then we have a cap hit of 15.4 million. Even as a June 1st cut we don't save much of anything this year as 4 million of the cap will escalate as a June 1st cut plus 3.5 million of this year's salary which is guaranteed. So the cost is 7.5 million versus a cap hit of 9.5 million or a savings of 2 million not 5 or 6 as you threw out there.

Again we don't have the players so we are saving nothing. We have dead cap space of 15 million or 10 million. I don't like either of them being cut unless we can't restructure them. Restructuring is the only way it makes sense for either of them.

Restructuring is what we did with Stewart....it is a basically Hunrey magic. It is just done to help a franchise maneuver....player basically either improves his short term scenario or nothing really changes.

Beason and Williams restructures need to be referred to as pay cuts. No way to Hurney magic it. They simply need to take less. Players don't like it....bc it is normally well known they have been asked to play for cheaper (like Nnamdi in Philly....take a payout bc you haven't given us what we paid for already).

Restructures where you convert future non-guaranteed salary into option bonuses in later years keeps the total compensation the same, saves cap room, and by converting some of the current salary into a signing bonus the player gets more money up front in lieu of money he was likely never going to see. That isn't a pay cut given he gets more money up front this year he just sacrifices some non guaranteed money on the back end. It is a restructure as I said it was. It saves us cap room and mitigates the dead cap space if we release him down the road.

Good point I am going to leave this poo alone and let Gettleman do his job.

He's done a great job so far... Honestly didn't expect this since he was supposedly not a cap guy but what he says makes sense talking about not only thinking about this season but further cap situations as well

Restructured Stewart, Kalil, and Nakamura's contracts getting three veterans to restructure is doing something

Technically he did something.....he hasn't touched any of the problems yet. Nothing done to suggest he is good or bad.

    • It wasn’t completely his fault, but outside of two throws and one or two scrambles he didn’t do much to help. His accuracy was all over the place, numerous passes that were placed poorly and didn’t give the receiver a good chance to catch the ball or do anything with it after. He also continues to display terrible pocket awareness. Even the sacks could have been avoided, they weren’t immediate like the pressure we got on Shough at times. Bryce just often has no feel for pressure and stands there waiting to get sacked after numerous seconds have passed.
    • I really fuging hate this era in so many ways.  I look at those Adin Ross and Neon kids, and I just wonder why tf are they famous?  Why would anyone be desperate enough to gain THAT audience that they’d risk money, career, disciplinary action to go up there and associate with those fuging dweebs?  And back in my day, racist peers got their ass beat.  And not endorsing or approving bully culture, but checks and balances and all…  had those two been bullied, or at the very least humbled, they wouldn’t be famous and glorified for being the fuging idiots they are now.  It seriously pisses me off… they both have done and said multiple, openly racist stuff and major media keeps pushing them, talking about them, and propping them up… and then dummies like Puka who don’t need the platform or exposure lend their celebrity to them.  fuging idiot… and even the other streamers, I don’t get - Speed, Kai…  I don’t understand making nobodies famous at all, but there is at least entertainment value to some degree there, and I could see how young, impressionable kids would find them something to aspire to (sadly), or view as “cool.”  But Ross and Neon?  They’re just shitty, shitty nerds with big ass mouths. I’ve went back recently and watched some classics (in two very different eras and categories 😂)  like Robocop and Idiocracy.  And what I find fascinating is how both movies illustrate how stupid society became by showing what the citizenry is entertained by.  In both, society became anti-intellectual and the citizenry were entertained by lowest denominator, primal-type absurdity - poo like, “Ouch! My Balls!”  Or on Robocop, a guy is a watching a show where they are smashing cakes on ladies’ breasts and then a guy says a line as the camera zooms in like, “I’d buy that for a dollar!” and the audience thinks it’s hilarious.  That’s where I feel like we are now.  Like who watches that clip with Puka and thinks any of that poo is funny or cool?  If I was Puka, I’d honestly be wondering why tf I’m hanging out with these beta ass, racist, cretin ass weirdos.
    • 7 wins this year and some of those against really good teams and yall think Canales might get fired? Lol Good luck getting a better coach in here if that happens.
