I remember his time before New England very well. He was mediocre and nothing special at all until Tom Brady crossed paths with him. Tom Brady is pretty much a football Jesus who turns nobody's into stars. Welker will be good in the Denver system as Manning uses a WCO and likes short throws with running after the catch. He really would not be as good a match in our system. That is not sour grapes but reality. He will be 32 in May and is on the back end of his career. For us he is not worth 6 million a year. I would rather develop Adams or move Smitty to the slot and look for a receiver in the draft. Like it or, we need to stop thinking 1 year fix and look at down the road.
