So are we already under cap for 2014?

With the recent Gamble and Anderson cuts, it appears our cap total is now only 122.9 for 2014.

Also Gross' 10 mil cap hit won't be at that number, it'll be reduced or he will be cut. Also, the only big name player I believe we have to resign is Hardy.

Things are looking up....

Gettleman said he was looking at the longterm health of the franchise. Something Hurney didn't do.

this.

everything that hurney did was focused on yesterday and today at the expense tomorrow. he had us at or near the cap every year and had nothing to show for it and no room to improve because he was so busy rewarding people for just being here.

he spent a lot of money but was piss-poor at managing it well going forward.

Adam Schefter said it best this morning on Mike and Mike. "You don't pay a player for what he's done, you pay him for what he can do." Hurney and JR did the opposite of that.

    • I think i like the Oregon Safety better
    • Do you see the vision?  As of now our Carolina Panthers don’t have an identity. We are not an offensive powerhouse and on defense we only started getting it together towards the end of the year last year. In my opinion we are much closer to having an incredible defense that scares the daylights out of people. I say the answer is simple and we fully commit to that possible identity.    Emmanuel McNeil Warren (E man)  This guy is like a shark lurking around ready to attack anyone. Fearless. He is easily a top 20 talent in my eyes, and the only reason he isn’t more talked about is because he’s from Toledo. Do your due diligence as panther fans and watch his tape I beg you. Once you’re done watching let me ask you this, if you dropped E - Man into the strong safety spot on the Buckeyes, he isn’t being talked about as one of the best prospects we’ve seen in some time given the skill set you see with this guy? I think so. Put his name on the card and turn it in at 19.    Jacob Rodriguez  High effort, High energy, High IQ guy that flies around the field. We all know Jacob at this point. My only concern is he’s a little bit too good and I’m not sure he makes it to us at our pick in the second. With the additions of Jacob and E- Man I think our defense goes to top 5 in the league. We would have a duo of linebackers that rival anything we’ve had in our past. I’m not a GM so I don’t know what the possible answer could be, but if there’s a way we can comfortably trade up in the second to secure this guy I think we find a way to do it.    Spend the rest of our picks fixing the O - line.    Thoughts Panthers fans? Who’s the ideal duo for yall?
    • OL is arguably much more important to the success of a young QB. (Or any QB)
