Didn't see another thread on this...

Also, the infamous “Tuck Rule” was eliminated by a 29-1-2 vote. The Steelers voted against the rule change while the Patriots and Redskins abstained. The “Tuck Rule” allowed a fumbled ball moving forward in the hand of a quarterback to be called an incomplete pass. It became famous in 2001 when Tom Brady dropped a ball while starting a passing motion during a snowy 2001 playoff game against the Oakland Raiders.

Just thought it was interesting that this finally got changed... esp since it should have never been there in the first place.

So if the QB is hit and the ball comes out, it's a fumble regardless of it he was about to release it or not?

I don't think they went that far... if the arm is going forward in the throwing motion, it's an incomplete pass... but if, as Brady did, the ball was being tucked away, and it's fumbled, it's not a forward incomplete pass, it's a fumble.
