Here's my stab at a Mock

Walter of Walterfootball.com has gone 5 rounds deep(reason I used his mock). I took the best fit for us based upon who he had available at our pick. I did not cheat by peaking at later picks to see if I was reaching based off his mock. Just took my favorite prospect of who was available at the time when we were up, looking back now if the mock goes the way he projects I def. reached on some guys. Anyway here it is.

Round 1. Keenan Allen- WR-Cal

Round 2. John Jenkins- NT- Georgia

Round 4. Shamarko Thomas- SS- Syracuse

Round 5. Hugh Thornton Guard/Tackle- Illinois

Round 6. Mychal Rivera TE -Tennessee

Heres the mock I used as a reference point so you can see who I passed on/was already gone by each pick. http://walterfootbal...m/draft2013.php

If anyone's interested enough I have plenty of videos to post so you can get a better idea of each prospect.

Would have rather seen Brandon Williams, Blidi Wreh-Wilson or Kyle Long in the second, but that's because I'm not a big fan of Jenkins and have serious concerns about stamina with him. I'm all about drafting BPA, and those three are above Jenkins on my big board. Still a good draft, and I love Allen/Thomas/Thornton (though if you got Long you could probably go NT there)....

Not bad. I'm not crazy about any of the WRs projected in the 1st this year. It's not even "oh they're not AJ Green or Julio Jones!!" it's "they wouldn't even be considered in the 1st at all, maybe even the 2nd in most years". But as long as you have us potentially solidifying our DL with a solid middle stuffer and doing something to address S and OL depth I'm happy enough.

Yes...I love this, you smart, smart bastard. If those fugs were available I would pick them all there as well, not Thornton, but the others fug yes. I feel like Hankins is going to be the nose that will be avail when we pick, one of them, Hankins, Jesse, or Jenks will be there in 2 and we have to pull the trigger.

Hankins legs / lower body is to skinny for a NT imo

One of the reasons that I feel that he drops. He is a little smaller than you would like. Not the same kind of athlete as Jesse Williams, not a mammoth like Jenks, he drops like a rock. I do feel he is a good run defender despite his build. But would prefer, Jessie, Jenkins, or Sly at that spot, they just will not be there.

    • The same folks crying about the OL right now were crying about it in 2023 too. We have tied up over 100 million dollars in two interior olinemen alone and we have Taylor Moton inked to a recent extension. We've invested multiple first and second round picks in the offense. We hired an offensive minded head coach. This is an offensive team. The offense needs to produce or people need to be replaced.
    • This is the same place that has ridiculed and blasted Caleb Williams at every opportunity he has his team sitting at 10-4 in the same NFC that the Panthers are competing in. And their division in the NFC North is as or more competitive as our division. Yet from the same people who have very high standards for Williams we get every excuse imaginable for the smallest starting QB in the league even when he and his team continue to disappoint when the pressure is on. You lot aren't any less inconsistent than anyone else.
    • The Panthers are 9th in cap spent on offense this year.  However next season is already a different story  The Panthers as it stands right now will be 18th in cap spent on offense and 8th in cap spent on defense  The Panthers are currently set to spend more on defense next year than they are on offense this season Guys like Jaycee and Moehrig cap numbers take a big jump. Wharton has a massive cap hit   Jaycee Moehrig and Wharton in 2025 The same 3 in 2026 So this same defense as it stands right now will cost more in 2026 than this offense does right now… Got anything else you want to try?
