Who's your "prime target"?

Mr. Scot

Trade down for a second rounder and draft Jesse Williams.

He is a bit raw, but stopping the run on defense starts at the NT position.

In the second round, take a Justin Hunter or DeAndre Hopkins and grab a Larry Warford or Barrett Jones.

Later, find a developmental 3 technique to rotate with Dwan at under tackle. Bennie Logan, Josh Boyd, etc.

Based on players that should be there at 14, no doubt TAVON AUSTIN and SHELDON RICHARDSON.

Both are beasts. Tavon is dynamic and adding him to the offense with Cam would be even more scarier. Put him in the backfield, in the slot, run reverses, whatever you wanna do with him.

Sheldon is a tremendous interior pass rusher but is also very good at the point of attack. Sure, he's an UT but he's going to force double team all day long leaving CJ/Hardy to have one on one matchups, and Kuechly running freely.

What do Steve Smith, Armanti Edwards, Joe Adams, Kealoha Pilares, James Shaw, and Ted Ginn all have in common?

If you said they were Panther receivers under 5'11" you would be correct!!!!!

If we draft a receiver, I hope he is at least 6'

Patterson?

I get the meaning, but DeSean Jackson is only 5'10 and we do have LaFell.

Well, name me a receiver in Panthers history that is considered good who's over 5'11, other than Moose.

Height matters huh?

In 2012, lets look at the league leading touchdown recievers

James Jones (14) 6’1’’

Erin Decker (13) 6’4’’

Dez Bryant (12) 6’2’’

A.J. Green (11) 6’4’’

Rob Gronkowski (11) 6’6’’

Brandon Marshall (11) 6’4’’

Marques Colston (10) 6’4’’

Victor Cruz (10) 6’0’’

Actually, not a single player under 6' caught more than 8 TD passes. I would say height matters

Let's look at their QBs: Brady, Peyton, Eli, Brees, Rodgers.

We need good receivers. Not tall receivers.

    • I didn't move the goal posts. But anyone who follows football who wants to engage in a rational discussion can't argue that 10 7th round picks are equal to 10 1st rounders in value. The argument has always been we haven't spent as much on defense has we have on offense. Draft picks have value just like salary. We have not spent the same amount of draft pick salary cap on defense that we have on offense since drafting Bryce. It's not even close. Just the 2 1sts we used on Bryce, 2 overall 1sts have a value of 6000. That doesn’t even factor in DJ Moore or the 2 2nds. Bryce cost more than everything we've spent on defense in 6 damn years.
    • We need to hope this scenario plays our next week he fails with pressure…what that means with Evero, is beyond me
    • Woukd be a great addition You know the issues from my prespective, 2 things the Panthers must do 1. Edge or pass rushers or 2 oline or 3 oline or as Andy Reid says, when in doubt, draft a lineman it is time   That oline is troubling plus a small person at QB  they   1. Can do a lot better than mayes at center, 2. and lewis has had injuries all season. 3. Moton should not have  been resigned long term, 4. corbett is a shadow and will probably be released  5 and Christianson coming off Achilles   6 and the kicker, would be Ickey’s contract if they decide to keep him INMO rookie and contracts will be needed to offset all that
