City is running out of options in effort to tie Panthers to Charlotte

fug politicians. Good for nothing.

And it doesn't matter if the next owner develops a winning franchise if they aren't in the Carolinas for us fans to reap the benefits. I WILL NOT pull for the Panthers if they move. Point blank, period.

The next owner that buys the team could very well already have an exit plan before he buys, and in that case, he's not going to give our city/state the chance to build a new stadium or renovate the existing one.

Hope everyone enjoys not paying a measly tax to keep our team here. We sure will show them, just like we did the Hornets! Take that pro sports!

I would just like the state to allow the Charlotte metro area to deal with it on it's own, ie decide locally if the area wants to raise the taxes here. It's a local vs. state issue and the state is severely overstepping its bounds. If the populace votes down the proposed prepared food hike, that's one thing....but to not even allow it to be decided on the appropriate level is teh dumb.

That's one of my main gripes. The state and McCrory need to let local issues play out locally.

It's no coincidence that the state is also trying to steal control of the airport from Charlotte.

This is an airport that the city of Charlotte developed into being the 6th busiest airport IN THE WORLD and now the pinheads in Raleigh want control.

There is that little issue of the State being broke.

Shocked by how many of you support Billionaire Welfare.

I support the process of making it difficult for a new owner to move the team. It's one thing I want to be a selfish prick about. We all have one trivial thing to bitch and moan about. I happen to love going to games and watching the Panthers. The people should help pay for my enjoyment.

Wow, we are getting a brand new stadium with our public money for the same price you guys are getting "upgrades". And our public money is actually coming from you guys as well, so we appreciate that.

This does make me appreciate the Godfather more though, when he wanted to upgrade the dome he did it with his own money. The Falcons are also footing 800 million of the new stadium price, though I'm sure us fans are getting ready to take it raw with this PSL poo.

    • He makes a good point about Wallace.  In fairness to Wallace it is hard to play your position as freely as you need to when your defensive line is getting pushed around like ragdolls.  One of the greatest attributes a defensive line has is sucking up blocks, freeing up your linebackers.  Our defensive line couldn't suck up a lollipop more or less blocks.  I think Evans, Sanders and Tremble are going to be a really nice TE group.  I can see all three getting time on the field.  If Sanders can improve as a blocker teams won't be so inclined to believe it is a pass play whenever Sanders is on the field.  Ryan Fitzgerald, I think was an awesome pick-up. Hopefully he can fill our kicker void. Luke Kandra many turn out to be our next Norwell.  Everything I have heard about him says he's a beast.  He needs some refinement, but the good news is he's got Hunt and Lewis (arguably the best guard tandem in the league) to learn from.
    • Great teams build through the draft and have several young players that start that are on rookie contracts. It's important to hit on players in rounds 4 thru 7.  These should be future starters and solid depth.  When you hit on most of your picks you free up a lot of cap space for those one- or two-year players to fill spots you are thin at. No GM is going to perfect on all their picks.  You're going to whiff every once in a while.  That was Hurney problem.  He'd nail the first pick but after that it was reach after reach and we couldn't get any depth on this team. I'm excited about Morgan as our GM and hopefully he'll be around a long time.  It will be even better if Canales can continue to grow as a head coach, both in the development of young players and play calling. I remember last season after Young came back in the lineup and started to perform well.  We saw different plays I had only seen other teams use.   If Canales's play design and play calling continue to grow. Morgan and Canales will be linked together for a long time.  It would be nice to see a Coach and GM together for a decade or two. Go Panthers
    • They also came out for the encore and the singers were dressed in canes jerseys. Pretty fuging cool.
