My source has told me...

Verge

It is still Vaccaro and Austin as our first choices unless a Milliner or elite T fell to us.

I'm not trying to be a smart a$$ or say u dont have an actual source. But I'm wondering would u put your life on the line for this source. Not actually but u get my point.

And how confident is that statement that we will select Austin or vaccaro. Are u 100% sure, 50 % sure?

I know he wouldn't have a reason to lie to me.

i really hope Vaccaro is not the pick.played a lot in the slot for a safety and close to the LOS. with Rivera saying Godfrey will stay at FS, i can see them bringing in Vaccaro to be more of a SS or somebody who drops into the box for run support.still not a fan tho.

Granted I know you've probably already told us as much as you know already, but is there any other draft info, panthers related especially, that you could let us in on?

Just wanta know as much as possible. These next four days are going to go by so slow. Pretty much hungry for any morel of draft/panthers info.

Verge have you heard any rumblings about trading down? Or do they seem content on staying where we are?

Btw, I'd be fine with Fluker, huge upgrade at right tackle. Fill like it might make us reach a little at 44 though.

If Verge's right, we're targeting a whole lot of DB's in the 2nd. Seems to mesh fine with Fluker in the 1st.

My guy really would not know a lot about trading down and what not, though I would imagine they want to stay put being a 1st year GM and what not.

How would you rank the 2nd round targets, Verge?

Jamar Taylor > Justin Pugh > Kawaan Short > Arthur Brown > Robert Alford > Quinton Patton > Logan Ryan > Brandon Williams > Eric Reid > Shamarko Thomas

I am hoping Jon Banks is on the radar for the 2nd, but I have not heard anything about him yet.

Huh? I thought you said that Taylor's going in the 1st. I also thought you said that Banks was being targeted, according to your 1st post.

He most likely is going in the first. Banks was my own assumption, I have not heard anything yet, but personally I don't see how they can't.

Couple of things

DJ Hayden will be selected by the Raiders

Shariff Floyd is now high on the Panthers radar with a suspected drop

Ryan Nassib will be taken by the Bills in the first

Barkevious Mingo is the favorite to go to the Eagles, but would not be surprised by Lane Johnson

Geno Smith will go in the top 10

Tank Carradine will be a top 20 pick

Steelers will take Jarvis Jones

Star Lotuleilei will drop out of the top 15

The Bengals will select Eddie Lacey

Falcons will 100% trade up for DE

49ers will trade up for a DB

Just throwing those out there

    • I originally hated the Miller deal but with the cap projected to rise nearly $10M next season the Canes struck some pretty good deals between Miller and Ehlers. Most of the team is locked in for the next few years. Nikishin will need an extension probably in the $6M AAV range. And Blake will need one if we don’t move him. Personally I’d move Blake, picks, and any prospect not named Nikishin/Nadeau/Artamonov for McTavish as I don’t see any any of the big time players moving teams next year. Realistically the Hurricanes should just target Gustavsson next year to fix the goal tending issue. But I’m all for moving Blake, picks, and prospects for McTavish this year. Ehlers - Aho - Jarvis Svechnikov - McTavish - Stankoven Martinook - Staal - Carrier Hall - Kotkaniemi - Robinson Jost - Jankowski Slavin - Miller Nikishin - Chatfield Gostisbehere - Walker Reilly Andersen Kochetkov I’d do Blake, Felix-Unger-Sorum, and 27 2nd for McTavish.
    • Very true on the length but stuff like this is never where we shine. We aren’t a good team at drafting.
    • Homerism aside, the more I see from Dan, the more impressed I am.  His player evaluation instincts. Last year his 2 premier FA signings, Hunt and Lewis COMPLETELY changed the line and I have a feeling his success in choosing blue chip guys will continue.  Look at the panthers’s rep for FA signings in the past. By and large, it’s been guys 1 year past their prime who had an injury and suckered our GM in to a crippling contract. We never get nice things. When was the last time this team signed 2 young blue chip studs  in the same offseason to contracts worthy of their impact? Ever?  Im telling y’all, players respect and trust Morgan.
