Trading Down in the second.

It would be one of my first options.

Maybe one of those QB hungry teams would give us their 2nd, 3rd and 6th to move up to grab one of the falling QBs.

With the tremendous value of Star in the first, I believe it affords us the ability to trade down.

That unless one of your top players is still on the top board.

Thoughts? What would it take for you to move down in the 2nd?

I mean don't get me wrong, if a deal comes along like a 2nd, 3rd, and 6th!! But thats a little far fetched. We are not the Patriots.

We are right on the bubble of starter-backup talent level at pick 12 in the second.

No we aren't, there are plenty of starting caliber players left in this Draft. You take Hunter/Wheaton/Allen in the second, and Sharmarko Thomas/Shawn Williams in the fourth and you've got three starters....

There could not possibly be a better result to this draft IMO if we came out of it with Star,Allen and Shamarko.

No qb hungry team picks after us in the second. How would they give us their second if they have already picked?

Usually the top 50 players in the draft are considered your starter caliber players. Maybe this draft is deeper than most, but traditionally mid-way through the second, that is the thought of it

    • Should be AD, LT, and Frank Gore imo.  That "practice squad" slot is where you put your hipster picks like CMC.
    • I have a friend whose cousin played for Dallas years ago, either DT or DE. He had talent, but kept having mental breakdowns or episodes, whatever.  After legal incidents they would send him off for treatment.  Only lasted 2 or 3 years before they let him go.  Wasn't worth the trouble.
    • Ill take the ones who drive a touch slow and sit in lanes over the ones driving wildly in excess of the speed limit, using tailgating as a form of bullying, passing on the right, and generally driving erratically and impatiently.   My moms late husband had a tee shirt that said "I'm not speeding I'm qualifying".  Hell of a great guy but worst driver ever.
